Nikon D3000 vs. Canon Rebel XS
I'm torn between the Nikon D3000 and the Canon Rebel XS.
They have the same review ratings, same price, generally same features.. I can't decide!
I'm not really partial to either Canon or Nikon, so any input would be helpful.
Does anyone own (or used to own) either of these cameras? Pros & Cons? Tips?
Thanks!

Re: Nikon D3000 vs. Canon Rebel XS
I guess I should've also added - I've been to Best Buy and messed around with both cameras. Both are nice, and I don't really have a preference for one over the other.
That's how I felt when I went to look at cameras, they seemed pretty much the same to me.
I ended up with a Canon Rebel. I like it so far but if you want to use manual there is a lot to learn. I'm taking a camera class in 2 weeks. The camera stores around here offer a free class with the purchase of camera, so you may want to check into that vs. buying at Best Buy or a similar chain. I've found the prices to be similar.
Also, I think I was told that Canons have more lens compadability...like they can use different brand lenses whereas Nikons only use Nikon lenses. I'm not sure how big of a deal that is but I thought I'd just throw it out there.
After reading TONS of reviews, I think I'm leaning towards the Rebel
I'm not too worried about the use of Manual functions - I took several Photography classes in college, I just never upgraded to an SLR. Now I'm going back to school and I need my own
I got the canon rebel XSi a few months ago and I am really happy with it. I don't think you will go wrong, either way. Good luck.
Not true.
In any event, you can't really go wrong with Nikon or Canon. Nikon people will tell you to get a Nikon. Canon people will tell you to get a Canon.
If you don't have a preference for the feel of either one, I don't know what to tell you. Perhaps if you have friends with more of one than the other, go with that, so you can swap lenses.
