Emmis New York Radio, a division of Emmis Communications is currently seeking a Digital Brand Manager with content management skills who can hit the ground running for WQHT, HOT 97 America?s premier Hip Hop radio brand. This candidate would be responsible for the design, look and feel of the station website and related products. Primary goals include generating content, increase website metrics, build sellable programs and increase interactive revenue.  In addition, this candidate would work with the station?s promotion and programming department to develop engaging content for the website?s large audience.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Some media companies might view the internet as the competition - something to rally against. Not EMMIS. In fact, Emmis Digital is setting the standard for interactive marketing and sales with its cutting-edge technology platform and in-house design services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding the aesthetic direction of projects while ensuring designs, layout and navigations are created within corporate guidelines, with an understanding of industry standards.   This position?s focus is on content and design and reports directly to Sr. Director of Promotions and works closely with Director of Marketing and Digital.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

The HOT97.com Digital Brand Manager must be a self-motivator, detail oriented, willing to work in a fast pace environment and a team player with strong organizational skills.  The candidate shall have a desire to deliver ?wow-factor? work consistent to every campaign.  Use independent judgment and time management skills to balance multiple projects and tasks.

 

Strong graphic design experience with a contemporary design sensibility is vital. Ensure top quality online experience for the users (functionality, relevant information and ease of navigation).  Candidate must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication and have a big desire to win!  Candidates MUST HAVE an online portfolio in order to be considered for the job.

 

Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, PhotoShop, Illustrator, JavaScript, and Graphic design sensibilities.  Flash animation and Drawing/illustration abilities are a strong plus.  Knowledge of database management, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques, Experience in running and evaluating online marketing campaigns. Knowledge with browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers.

 

Designs and constructs web pages including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques for the stations? website including fully dynamic flash and or html pages.  Manage page and navigation module content to cross promote website pages to increase page views.  Daily content updates, manage home page content to clearly highlight station priorities (on-air, website content, and/or promotional events), Write compelling, relevant and accurate content for website.  Compile content and create regular station E-blasts/newsletters, quick hit database notes, pre-sales, ongoing design of the website, promos and ad banners. Oversees additional web based properties to primarily drive traffic back to our own site (facebook, twitter, myspace, etc)

 

Assists in idea generation and communication of sellable client partnerships and ensures accurate and optimal execution of all digital programs

 

Hires and manages relevant part time staff and interns
