NJ Nestie visiting Nashville - hotel ?'s

Good morning ladies! I am visiting my mom is Alabama and we are heading up to Nashville this week. We are planning on going to the Grand Ole Opry and then spending the following day in Nashville. I am looking for any recommendations on hotels that are within walking distance of the Grand Ole Opry or the main hub of Nashville. Any help is appreciated. Thank you and I hope you all have a great day!Smile

  • The Grand Ole Opry isn't within walking distance to downtown.  If you want to stay near Grand Ole Opry, you can stay at Opryland Hotel.  It is really an awesome hotel.  It is also within walking distance to Opry Mills Mall.  Otherwise, I would stay in a hotel downtown.  There are tons.  But, I think you need to pick either staying downtown, or staying near Grand Ole Opry.  I would recommend Opryland Hotel.

  • Like pp said nothing is within distance of the opry but Opryland Hotel.  There is a Sheraton (Music City) and an Embassey Suites about two exits away.  Downtown is about 15 minutes away but by car.

What do you plan on doing the next day, it may be easier to find a hotel close to whatever you have plan then.

    HTH!

  • I highly recommend the Double Tree Hotel downtown or the Downtown Sheraton.  The Opry is about 15-20 minutes from downtown, but you should definitely look into a concert of the Ryman, the original home of the Opry.  It is my favorite place in Nashville.  If it doesn't have any concerts that interest you while you're in town, you should definitely take a tour.  If you want a truly Nashville experience, the Wildhorse Saloon on 2nd Ave has free line dancing lessons every night.  It's usually a little more fun after a few drinks, but I enjoy taking my out-of-town guests there.  Jack's Bar-B-Que is a classic Nashville place to eat and it's on Broadway.

     Hope you have fun!

  • Thank you for all of your suggestions. We wound up staying near the airport, however, my friend and I are heading back up through Nashville on our way home. We are planning on staying in the downtown area. It was so much fun!
