Restaurant Advice for Indy?
I'm a Cincinnati Nestie. My DH and I are planning a weekend trip to Indianapolis. We are only staying one night. Can you please recommend a romantic restaurant (preferrably non-chain).
TIA!

Re: Restaurant Advice for Indy?
Oakley's Bistro on W 86th St.
We celebrated our anniversary there and it was sooo worth it. oakleysbistro.com
Where are you staying? What do you like to eat?
Here are a few of our faves:
Downtown:
St. Elmo's http://www.stelmos.com/ Arguable the nicest steakhouse in town. The shrimp cocktail is spicy and legendary. Its expensive, but I think worth every penny
Palamino: we love it, but I know you have one in Cincinnati, so you probly don't want to try that one.
Ocean Aire: amazing sea food--also a chain, but no other locations near here. http://www.theoceanaire.com
Midtown:
Mama Carollas http://www.mamacarollas.com/ An adorable, romantic italian restaurant.
The Meridian http://www.meridianonmeridian.com/ I have not been there personally, but several friends have raved about it. The building is also beautiful!!
Northside:
The Capri, also great italian. I have not been there personally in about 5 years, but my parents just went and said it is as good as ever. http://www.capriindy.com/default.htm
Westside:
Rick's Boatyard Cafe http://www.rickscafeboatyard.com/home.html They have live jazz on the weekends, which gets pretty rockin. Maybe fun for pre or post dinner drinks. It is always mobbed in the summer, but is just as nice in the fall!
If you have more questions about any of these I would be happy to go in to more detail, but these are all some of our favortites!! Enjoy Indy and have a great anniversary!!
I've heard the Eagle's Nest (revolving roof) is romantic, but I haven't been (hint hint DH).
We love the Melting Pot for a nice date, but that is a chain.
Good luck!
