Question for Moms

My sister wants to buy Isabella a pair of Pedipeds or Jack and Lily soft sole leather shoes but I think $25 is expensive for something she doesn't really need. Anyone buy shoes before baby was crawling/walking? I just put socks on her right now. TIA.

Re: Question for Moms

  • i find the robeez helpful for keeping the socks on when in bouncer at daycare, owens legs are always kicking/moving etc.  hth!!

  • I haven't bought any shoes for Mason...tho I have been tempted.  I too can't see buying him something he will soon grow out of.  That said, I have heard the Robeez or similar style shoes grow with the child for awhile, so it wouldn't be such a bad deal........

  • We used Robeez with Brianna before she could walk.  I loved them!
  • I had Maddie in Robeez in the winter to keep her socks on and her feet warm. Nothing in the summer, but she was home with me FT.
  • I've never tried those particular brands but Jakob wore Robeez until he was a confident walker ALWAYS and still wears them around the house now.  Caroline has not worn anything else to this point either.  Robeez aren't QUITE that expensive (as long as you buy them either on sale or used, like I do) but the way that I figured, having one neutral pair of something that's going to stay on is better than five pairs of shoes that they can pull off easily :)
  • I usually put shoes on Kaelyn when we go out.  But she usually kicks them off and we play the game of putting them back on and then she kicks them off again :)

  • Come to think of it, I didn't use any shoes until Gabby was at least cruising; that's when I got her first pair of Robeeze. I just did socks her first winter (the Gap ones with the ankle elastic that do NOT come off), then no shoes thorugh the summer. Oh wait, she did have a pair of Teva-type sandals that summer, but they were cheap (like $10) and more for the novelty. I admit, I spend a lot of unnecessary money, but I don;t think I'd by Pedipeds or the like for a non-walker/crawler/cruiser.

  • i always just put socks on them.  =)  but thats me.  =)
