Does anyone know the price of an iphone
without a contract.
As in you already have a cotract with att&t, arent due for an upgrade but you just want to pay full price?
I checked at&t.com and they only have the price with 2 year agreement
Re: Does anyone know the price of an iphone
depends on the version of the iphone you want...
$499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB)
early upgrade pricing: $299 (8GB), $399 (16GB), or $499 (32GB) with a new two-year contract
(From apple.com site fine print)
i just got a refurbished iPhone 8GB -- and ATT let me do a special exception upgrade, so it was $50 fee + normal upgrade phone price + $18 activation.
if you buy off-the-shelf, no upgrade, there's no activation fee.
ETA: i should have mentioned that i also wasn't eligible for upgrade until next june. i just hated my phone and decided to splurge. i think we walked out of ATT store paying $260ish. i'm sure my next bill will be a big one, with the added data fee, activation fee, etc.

whatever i did was the 'special exception' upgrade (or so i was told). my situation was my original lg shine (purchased last oct) had a defect; i sent it back, att sent me a new one; my second one was now giving me fits. i only had a week left on my mf warranty, so my only option was to send it back and get a 3rd lg shine (after the 3rd version of the same phone, then they can give you a different model/brand). that's why i just said f* it and went for the iphone. the lady at the att store was the one that mentioned the exception upgrade, i was fully expecting to pay full price.
another option (as explained to me) is: you can open another line on your current plan (assuming you have a family plan) and get the iphone for that line. so you pay the lower price, but have to pay 9.99 for that extra line, 36 activation fee, etc.
