"Pretty girls can litigate too."
This was a phrase that a higher-up in our office actually used in an e-mail to the entire office.

Re: "Pretty girls can litigate too."
Wow.
But you know, it doesn't surprise me. I've heard worse. "Why ahhh you workin, guhhhl? Shouldn't you be home havin baybeez and cookin fo yo huzban?"
GTFO.
I hope whoever wrote that email isn't a direct supervisor.
Not anymore. ;-/ He's at a different region, but is like 4th in the line of command within the office.
And this was in an e-mail that was meant to give kudos to an attorney that won her first serious case.I would take it as an insult. But I probably wouldn't do anything about it.
9/19/12: Miscarriage at 12wks due to Triploidy, D&C 9/24/12 - I will forever miss you my little angel
Wow pretty much sums it up.
[sigh]
If I were that woman, I'd save that e-mail.
I used to have a whole folder for such things.
The folder was called "Ammo."
Hey, I'm a litigator.
You don't want to mess with me.
I'll make your life miserable.
This sounds like a good plan.
Shut the front door. What was the context of the rest of the email?
I had a guy call me "sweetheart" last week. I called him out in front of his employees. He was like, "Oh, I'm from New York." Because everyone in New York calls each other "sweetheart"??????
Nest glitch 2
The e-mail mentioned that one of the officers commented to her during the trial that he was surprised that she was doing so well; he didn't think she was smart because she's "so attractive".
The "Word to the wise, pretty girls can litigate too," was pure commentary by the supervisor added in a couple paragraphs after as encouragement to the rest of us. (???)
Those of us who found it weird are in the minority. Most of the females are viewing it as a feather in her cap and some are actually jealousE.
My office is beyond weird.
This is wrong piled upon wrong piled upon wrong.
But I don't expect much from people in that neck of the woods.
I grew up in that neck of the woods.
