Does anyone having any Eye Doctor rec's for the AU Area? H is needing to go since he hasn't been in a while and has never been here in AU
Re: AU Eye Doctor
I go to the Schaffer Eye Center in Montgomery. They are pretty nice in there and you don't have to wait too long, which is even nicer, although the drive is ~30-45 minutes. I can usually schedule an appointment within the week.
I went to the Schaffer Eye Center in Bham to get my Lasik surgery and had a great experience with them there as well. If you don't have insurance, their exam fee is $99, last time I checked.

My H went to one of the docs in one of the Wal Marts (before I met him) and his glasses were crap when he got them- just a warning.
Thanks..we decided to go with the dr. Amy and Heather rec'd on the AL baby board. H didn't want to go to one in Montgomery since he works in Alex City and it was more driving than he wanted.
How has the lasik worked out for you? What did you have that made you get it done?

That's definitely a lot of driving. I completely understand.
The Lasik worked awesome I was only near sighted, but they said they could also fix far sightedness and astigmatism. The procedure itself was super intense, but with what I paid, just so long as I continue to go to them yearly, if I for some reason ever need to get it done again, it's free I actually got it done about 4 months before I was married, and it was the best money I've ever spent.
Glad to hear it worked good for you!
H has astigmatism and has considered lasik before but I think when he went for a consultation the doctor didn't think he was a good candidate..or maybe that was the case for a friend of ours (they went years ago around the same time).

That's actually what my husband thought too. When I got mine done, the machine actually mapped out my eye beforehand to help the doctor determine where exactly he needed to modify. I thought that was pretty cool.
