driving from MKE thru Madison

has anyone made the drive since they updated the 94 last week? i'm just wondering how much extra time it will take with flooding etc. we're taking 94 and then taking the beltline around Madison to drive to Spring Green on Friday.?

Re: driving from MKE thru Madison

  • my husband drove from MSN to MKE last night.  He expected it to take a bunch of extra time.  The crossover in Lake Mills is one lane, but he said there wasn't any backup there, just when he got to MKE.  I think it all depends on when you go- apparently when you leave MSN at 5:30, it's not too bad.
  • I was wondering about this too, as my brother will be coming through there to visit us if we ever have this baby!
  • I don't know, but Spring Green sounds fun. Hi Carrie! How's the house coming along?

  • SIL drove it from Madison to Oconomowoc on Saturday. It took her three hours.

  • It really depends on the time of day... Friday may be busier, due to everyone heading out to various weekend destinations. When the DH and I headed up to Madison last Friday, around 4/4:30 pm, I-94 was backed up on both side, but the East-bound lane was definitely worse than the West-bound lane, so you might be okay... Try to avoid rush hours, if you are able.
