Re: *ses1199* ? Peoh's in Coronado. . .

  • Hi. I know you weren't paging me. But I'll answer. My IL's love Peohe's. They seem to always want to go. We went with them once and thought the food was OK, but not great. However, the view is great so it was a nice lunch overall. My IL's went 2 weeks ago for lunch and said the service was absolutely awful, but that's once out of all the times they've gone.
  • thanks sarahbear!  anywhere else on coronado w/ an awesome view?  lunch or dinner is fine.  since it's "restaurant week"  mh & i should "test out" places!
  • right next door is Il Fornio, a delicious very nice Italian restaraunt-same amazing view, too! Never been dissappointed with food or service-ask for a window seat, or ask to sit outside (on the waterfront). I'm sure they are a part of Restaraunt week

  • Hi Princess,  We had always wanted to try it we love Coronado but the service was really bad.  We had a reservation for 7 and we go there at 6:30.  I told them I new we were early and that we wanted to have a drink in the bar until 7:00 and asked if we could wait for a table outside.  The hostess said no problem.  Then as we sat down in the "lounge" area another hostess came to seat us right away.  When I asked her if we cold wait for a table outside she said that it would be a really long wait and she was really rude about it.  So we just said o.k.  The cocktail waitress in the bar told us she would bring our drinks to the table because we had not gotten them yet.  It seriously took a good 15 minutes to get them.  Then when they brought them our friend had gotten a bottled beer that is one of those really big bottles and they didnt bring him a glass.  We asked for one and it took like 10 minutes.  We were joking that we just needed a brown paper bag.  Then when they brought out the soup and salads they didnt bring out my DH's until we were all already done with ours.  It took another 20 minutes to get another round of drinks, the food was totally bland.  My fish had no taste and DH's prime rib was all fat and way overcooked.  The meal took 2.5 hours and that is with two rounds of drinks!

Anyway, sorry so long.  I have worked in the restaurant/hospitality business for most of my adult life so I totally understand how it works but I wouldnt go back here again with so many other great places in Coronado.
