Quick question - balloon fiesta
hi girls - We traveled to NM for the Balloon Fiesta last Oct...stayed for 2 nights, went to the field everyday and night for a total of 5 visits but never got to see 1 balloon due to weather. We are considering flying in on Sat at 4pm...going to the Night Glow and fireworks...then staying overnight and hitting the Mass Ascention Sun morning. I am afraid the weather will not be in our favor again and it will be a wasted trip. I am a photographer for fun and that is the main purpose of the trip.
What are our odds this weekend of good weather?

Re: Quick question - balloon fiesta
Well....it's hard to say for certain of course. The weather report looks pretty promising for Saturday and Sunday....and I "think" that there has only been one day where the events were cancelled/postponed due to wind. (Last Sunday I believe) But today for example, there were quite a few accidents after the mass ascention when the wind picked up.
I would tentatively say it would be ok....but I am definitely not an expert!
I'm also a photographer and am hoping to get out Sat morning to get some good shots, so I have fingers crossed for good weather.

The weather this morning says the wind should be gone by Sunday, I think. We have a friend flying in tomorrow. She was here last year to and never got to see anything because of the rain. I really hope this weekend is nice!
