Man i'm happy it's Friday! But i'm getting really tired of thinking that Thursday's are Friday...boo...
DH and i don't have much planned for this weekend. He's glued to the tv for the Red Sox playoffs, so we'll watch/listen to the game tonight. Tomorrow i want to try to get to Beacon's Closet in Park Slope to get rid of some stuff that's been sitting around. Then we're going to the ballet tomorrow night as DH's anniversary present to me! Yayayayayayay! Sunday will be cleaning and relaxing. DH wants to go see a one act that a friend of ours directed in a one act play festival, but i don't really want to go. So i probably won't. ![]()
Re: TGIF and weekend plans?
Yay, Friday. Busy day today: finish shopping and cooking for camping this weekend, get some work done, make cookies for my Dad for his birthday, meet Dad and DH for dinner at Leiderhosen for Dad's birthday, maybe catch the Reed Foehl show afterwards....
The long weekend is all about camping--an annual trip with a group of old friends. I volunteer to be the camp cook, so the 2 days beforehand are spent preparing everything for easy meal servings, on the menu: open-faced beef sandwiches with herbed mayo and tomato soup (for when we all arrive), chili with cheddar corn muffins, poached eggs on toasted English muffins with cheese and sausage, shishkabobs of beef, kilbasa and vegetables with side salads, chicken a la king over biscuits and a final breakfast of pancakes and bacon. (Can you tell how much I love this weekend each year?)
yay Friday!!
Tonight: since we joined a CSA this week, tonight I want to prep and freeze as much of the produce as I can. Since we'll be away all weekend I don't want it to go bad!!
Saturday: we leave mid-morning on our flight to Florida for my friends wedding. Saturday night is their welcome dinner
Sunday: hanging out at the beach/pool and in the evening is the wedding!
Monday: (since we have off too!) more relaxing and hanging out at the pool/beach and then flying back to NYC in the afternoon.
meggie: I once did a drop off to beacon's closet - out of all the stuff they only took a pair of brand new converse sneakers (that were too big for DH) and gave me $8. i guess our stuff wasn't hipster enough for their store!
This weekend is going to SUCK for me, big time.
I have yoga certification all weekend, from 8-6 in the city, which means I need to leave my house by 6:45. Then I am dancing at a wedding in Suffolk tomorrow night at 9:15, and (this is a fun part) dancing at Christine Viola (from EAP)'s dad's birthday party in Brooklyn on Sunday night.
All of these things individually would be fun, but when you stack 20 hours of yoga training in two days on top of two bellydance performances, it is a LONG, TIRING weekend.
Unfortunately, ALL of my weekend in October are pretty much shaping up to be the same as this!
I can't wait till Monday! (oh, and I do NOT get off for the holiday....)
Tonight we are going to see the 4th of the 5 plays that my company is producing this fall. (tovachava- We are going to Ordinary Days- Adam?s play!) Then we are going to head home and catch a late movie with our friends in NJ. I think we are going to see ?Couples Retreat?.
Tomorrow we are going to wake up early and head to the chiropractor. Afterwards, we might join the local YMCA b/c I really want to start swimming on a regular basis. I used to be a competitive swimmer and I really miss it. Later we are heading to Staten Island to visit the in-laws and celebrate DH?s birthday. We also have to stop by our friend?s daughter?s 2nd Birthday party at some point.
Sunday, hopefully all we are going to do is relax! It has been a hectic week. But I want to cook/prep some meals for the coming week as well.
Monday DH is working, so I am going to work on some marketing materials for an event that an organization I belong to is hosting. That should be fun. Have a great one ladies!
My weekend will be mixed with the uneventful and un-ordinary....
Tonight: I work with my youth girls group at my church which is always fun, but just a mad dash to get there, bolting from the city.
Saturday: Fortunately, DH doesn't have to leave for work until 1p.m, so we'll get some precious quality time, since I'm a chef's widow!
Hopefully, we can squeeze some time to see the new movie Couple's Retreat, which looks hilarious! Then, I've got tons of laundry to do, washing some winter stuff.
Plus, the un-ordinary part of my weekend is the fact that since DH is heading upstate with his co-worker for a work retreat at Farmland early Sunday morning, his senior sous chef must stay with us overnight since DH is driving. I've never met the guy, but I'm a little weirded out by a co-worker staying with us overnight. The guy is his friend too, but nonetheless, the division between work and home must cross for one evening, so I'll be a good DW and make him feel hospitable. But I told DH, with two chefs in the house, I'm not cooking anything!
Have a great one ladies!
Everyone's weekends look really impressive! I agree with you Ms. wifey...no cooking with 2 chefs in the house! LOL
I have been busy all week wrapping up since today was my last day at my work. Earlier I went shopping for some new stuff, after work then I grabbed a subway sandwich and just finished devouring it. DH should be home soon.
Saturday: finishing all my mini half started projects
Sunday: our new guttering should be put up...meanwhile I will work on the mini projects from above.
Monday: DH is off, and I start at my new job in the city (yay!)

Last night, we went to Battle of the Badges at MSG. Very fun.
Today, I get some work done. Maybe some laundry and errands.
Tomorrow, we head to Boston. I wish I could say it was head to the game. Alas, even though we'll be staying right near Fenway, I will not be at the game. Nonetheless, I am excited to be there for all the chaos and high-energy antics that comes with crazy Boston fans. We'll be at a concert. I am sure dinner and some drinks will be part of the equation as well. Can't wait to get to some of our favorite places.
Today, chilling out and catching up on some tv in the morning. Then heading out to the farmer's market and getting some fresh fall air. Then coming home and doing a little cleaning and school work. Tonight seeing a movie with DH. I think Zombieland.
Tomorrow I'm taking an all day class in Hip Hop Theatre.
Monday????????? Any fun suggestions to do with the DH that's cheap?
