Unlocked iPhone w/ Tmobile?
I think I read on one of the posts that one of the ladies has an unlocked iPhone with service through T-Mobile? I have a couple questions. Where did you get the phone and how does it work since you're suppose to use iTunes to activate your phone. I know the sim card is also different so how would you use the same one?

I've got an Iphone with Tmobile (3G- and I previously had an old one also).
I bought it 'locked' on craigslist and my husband unlocked it using some software that's available online. If you don't trust yourself hacking it you can buy them unlocked on craigslist as well.
You still use iTunes to upload all your music & pictures you just don't update it (if a new software update comes out DO NOT update it or else it'll lock your phone).
The website: modmyi.com has tons of information on hacking iphones and such. It really isn't that hard.
I also use my regular TMobile SIM card and TMobile knows I'm on an iphone (they were actually impressed when I first called, lol).
Seriously- all of my close friends have iphones and are on Tmobiles service. The plans are so much more affordable- I probably save $50 a month versus the AT&T data & phone plans.
Thanks so much! When you called Tmobile what kind of data plan did they put you on? Also, did they say anything about using an unlocked iPhone?

T-Mobile didn't say anything- I've called several times and never has any one made any negative comments regarding us having iPhones (I think they're actually pretty used to it because I know there is a huge unlocked-iPhone community).
I'm on the $30 data plan- unlimited e-mails, internet, etc. They had a special though a while back and my plan is actually only $20.
My sister's boyfriend has an unlocked iPhone on TMobile and hasn't had any issues with it. He did talk about the Internet stuff, but he likes it.
