Re: How was your weekend?

  • 2brides - I can't wait to hear how it went at the march!!

We had a very nice, very busy weekend.  C is in a friends wedding, and on Saturday morning, she went with the other bridesmaids for their dress fitting, and then we all went apple picking at a farm north of the city.  It was a beautiful day for it, and we got a bag full apples to make apple crisp and ate apple cider doughnuts.  Then we got some lunch out, just the two of us and went home for a nap.  That night we went to a fun gathering with friends where we met some new people.

Sunday we got to see some ssh nesties and meet little miss Ella! Then it was all about errands with grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and cooking in preparation for the week (and our visit from C's parents this Thursday)!

It's our anniversary week (6 years together as of yesterday, and 2 years married tomorrow), but we're waiting to celebrate until next week.

  • We had a great weekend :)

Friday Andrea was exhausted so i cancelled our dinner reservations and we crashed on the couch instead.

She felt a ton better Saturday so we headed out w/ some friends for hiking, scenic driving, castle touring, animal petting, and apple fritters.  Then the two of us enjoyed a nice dinner out and it was another early night crashing on the couch for A.

Sunday morning we had the pleasure of meeting precious miss Ella and enjoyed visiting w/ Sam, Sue, Brit and C!  In the afternoon the both of us got a nesting burst and I did a ton of baby laundry/clothing organizing and Andrea cleaned out the basement in preparation for our hopes to turn it into a playroom this winter.  And in the evening we went out to dinner w/ my parent at a new and yummy restaurant.

if only it didnt go by so quickly!

  • Friday we went to dinner and ate outside in the beautiful weather!

Saturday morning I took the kids to sports class. After nap, I went to pick up the boys' best friend and let the 3 of them play for awhile before his mom got off work and came over to babysit so L and I could go on a date. We went to see Capitalism: A Love Story (not one of his better movies), a late night burrito at Chipotle (yea remind me never to eat a burrito at 10pm again!), and CVS to get cough medicine for Carter (how romantic.)

Sunday L decided at the last minute to go with us downtown. YAY!!! We had no problems getting there and while we had to wait a long time in a sea of people to start walking (and it was really warm in the sun!) once we got moving (and realized that it was much easier to walk on the sidewalk) it was fine. Carter didn't feel well (coughing) so he napped for a long time in the stroller and Gray did a good job of staying in as long as we were moving. We were interviewed by MTV - which cracked us up since we are so not the MTV demographic!  We didn't get to the Capitol for the rally since we needed to get the kids home. So we headed home and went out to for a late lunch/early dinner, to the playground and tricycle riding. They were out by 7:30 and I was almost out by 8:30, but Carter woke up with a night terror and I didn't get to go to sleep till 9:30.  I am glad that we got to go!  I went to the marches in 93 and 00. I find it interesting to look back on the progression (93, I wasn't out and went as an ally.  00, I was out, proud, and single and went to the parties, concerts, rally, etc. And in 09, being gay is about as much on my rader of self identity as having green eyes. I've been  partnered for 9 years, married for 6.5y, mother of 3.5y old twins, and felt very suburban! Stick out tongue

I am seriously dragging today. Even though I was out by 9:30, I was up 3x during the night giving Carter cough medicine and at the 4:45 dosing, I couldn't fall back asleep till 5:30 - and then Leanne's alarm woke me at 5:40. <img class=" title="Crying or Very sad" />

And I have to work today.

  • It was a lot of fun... my little brother took the bus up from DC on Saturday and spent the day/night with us. We didn't really do anything special, just hung out and talked a bunch, but it was really really nice to see him.

Sunday afternoon, once my brother left, was super lazy... we decided we deserved a break from working on our office, and just napped and watched TV all afternoon. That night we had dinner and game night at our friends' place.

    A great, relaxing weekend overall.

good question!  i'm not sure...her parents got us his bedding, which we love, and also these piddler target things that you put in the toilet for boys to aim at, lol! she got a huge kick out of those. we also got lots of cute clothes and a bouncy seat and a little table with two chairs and some towels and some other things...lots of stuff! it's all so cute!

  • it was good. We took off friday to hang out and worked on the den a little, Saturday I had a game that was awesome, and Sunday I ran and worked on the den. No complaints.
