NFL new QB interferance rules
So I think this new pass interferance rule on the QB is BS. They are playing pro football for gosh sakes, let them get sacked! Any other thoughts on this?!

Re: NFL new QB interferance rules
MSN just carried an article like this on Friday. They said that it's starting to look more like flag football when it comes to QBs.
On the one hand, I would like to see QBs not having scrambled brains in their 50s from all the concussions they got while playing, but on the other hand, they need to be able to MOVE enough to avoid every sack.

I think this is what they are talking about.

It seems like they are only calling the penalty when it is done to Brady. Last week it was very obvious that the whining wheel gets the grease. And as a Broncos fan, I know I saw several times when Orton was hit below the knee and the penalty was not called.
It seems that the refs do call it more on QB's such as Brady, Manning, Brees, etc., but they are calling it in almost every game no matter what team is playing. The Pats defense has been called for roughing the passer many times already this season. Some I agree, others not so much.
IMO, you always play to the refs. This goes for any penalty that can be called. You can keep doing it until it is called then you know the boundaries. Somedays you can get called for pass interference and then the next week you could do the same exact thing and not get called at all. Play to the refs.
BTW, Congrats on the win.
First, thank you. I would never have thought the Donkeys were going to do it this year. I thought for sure the higher number would be in the "L" column.
Secondly, I wholeheartedly agree that each ref seems to call certain penalties on certain teams more than on others. On the Fox pregame show on Sunday there was quite a discussion about specific refs and how they call.
From this article, near the end:

"Bengals QB Carson Palmer, who spent the offseason rehabbing from a leg injury resulting from a vicious hit in last year?s playoffs, thinks the new rule goes too far"
I think it speak volumes that even Carson Palmer thinks the rule BS.
