I'm having such a huge FAIL day today. Well yesterday/today.
Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. I celebrate every year by treating myself to Boston Market. Lame, but I was never up to making a big meal, and since the American counterpart is so soon after, I don't want to physically explode.
I decided this year that I was going to make a proper dinner. So I got a roasting chicken and was going to do that in the crockpot today. My Mum, her SO and my brother are coming over for dinner tonight. Last night I went to get the bird out to prep it for the crock.
I love DH, I really do. BUT he put it in the FREEZER when we bought it Friday. I told him I was making it Monday and we don't freeze meat if we're using it that week. Now I have a completely solid bird, which is obviously not roasting with potatoes and veggies right now.
I'm probably over-reacting, but it's totally ruined my day. I get off at 5:30 and need to magically have a Thanksgiving bird to feed my family with.
It looks like good old Boston Market wins afterall.

Oh, that sucks, Jaye! It's not really your FAIL, even though I know your day isn't what you here hoping and planning for.
There are worse things than having Boston Market...hmmm...lunch is on the company today since it's a holiday and we're working (the rest of the company is off, but our group isn't), that sounds yummy. I wonder if there's one nearby...

I have today off and I am loving it. I just ran some errands, which included getting my car washed for the first time in a long while. Today I plan to take care of some things around the house and hopefully get some school tasks accomplished.

dd1 has therapy today so that is the biggest chunk of our day--the driving is a bit of a PITA. That and grocery shopping is on the agenda, as I didn't do any this weekend. The ladies were up late last night, so fingers crossed for a long nap!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! About 1/2 of the people I work with are off today. Could you get a Boston Market chicken or two and then make the sides yourself? At least you'll have half homemade items.
Today I am off to Vegas for work. Vegas for work blows. I'm gone all week and I'm not thrilled about it. Hopefully it will make the week fly and I'll be home before I know it. Next week is equally busy though, but at least I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and I can hear the heartbeat.
That's what my current plan is
It just sucks because it will put me over my grocery budget for the week. I worked hard to fit the chicken into the budget already.
Oh well. Life won't end

Our weekend was pretty good. I made BBQ Pulled Pork yesterday that was to die for. Tonight, I am making stuffed Shells for dinner... YUM! I also am trying to plan my next few weekends as i really want to go to the AZ State Fair but dont want to go when it is mobbed.... (is it ever not mobbed)?

What about the chickens from Frys or safeway??? those are tasty And I think like only $4 or 5 each.
My weekend was a roller coaster.
Friday we had the IL's over for dinenr and I made my mac and cheese, FIL grilled steaks, and I roasted asparagus! Way tasty meal!
Saturday i had to work at teh card shop. It was dead, but we had a ton of invitations to put together so I was busy. After work i got a call from my dad.... His cancer is back
he has been cancer free for a year, and now its rearing its ugly head again. We had dinner plans with a friend that night, so we did go out which helped lift my spirits a bit...but I got the most insane headach, on the way home I had to keep my eyes covered because the headlights from passing cars was to bright. 
Sunday I slept in till 8! Then just lounged all day. I felt liek crap and didnt want to do a thing. DH slept til freaken 1130! We had puppy class at which ladmo laid on the floor the whole time and refused to learn. We ended the day by going out to the Wineburger and pigging out on some yummy grub
ugh. what a weekend.

I agree with the other and think you should just get a Boston Market Chicken. You can always save the frozen bird and eat it (and leftovers) another week. That would help with the grocery budget.
On a side note, I love Boston Market side dishes. Creamed Spinach. Mashed potatoes. Yams with marshmallows. Cornbread. I really do love it. MH thinks it's gross. Because of this, I only really have it like once a year. Can we make an arrangement to have a GTG at a Boston Market?!

So this is probably a totally lame question and I could just google it, but is Canada's Thankful day always on Columbus day or is it a happy coincidence?
I know! I'm ridiculous. When I went shopping I ended exactly on our budgeted amount so I was really pleased...Now I'm blowing it out of the water. No big deal, but I was just so proud of my good food budgeting.
It's always the second Monday in October.
I have no idea if that is how Columbus day is oriented. I'm a bad American.
