Help. This is the first year of my adult life that I'll have trick-or-treaters. My cul-de-sac has over 40 children on it. Apparently there are craploads of trick-or-treaters. How do I know how much candy I should buy? Is this something that I need to suck up and go ask my neighbors?
Amazon has a spend $40 on candy, get $15 off deal. Is that what I should be expecting to spend - around $25 on candy?
Re: Halloween candy question
I got little bags of chips (Doritos and Funyons) last year from Big Lots. Costco has them too. I'm too tempted to eat actual candy, but at least if there are leftover chips they can be work snacks or something.
Here's the Amazon link in case you're interested:

I'd suck it up & ask the neighbors just so you have a general idea and don't overbuy or end up running out after an hour. $25 sounds like a great deal for $40 worth if there's free shipping.
When we were doing the haunted house we usually went through 3.5 of the 100+ count bags of minis but since I've stopped it's tapered down to maybe 1.5-2, my neighbors noticed the decrease in traffic as well.

Sounds like it would be a good idea to just simply ask your neighbors about how much they spend on candy given the number of children in your area.
