Day Zero Project

Is anyone else doing this?

You make a list of 101 things that you would like to accomplish in 1001 days.  A bunch of people I know were doing it so I joined the club!  I feel super motivated with it and I'm so excited about the next 1001 days now.  Smile

Here is my list so you can see what it is about.  I highly recommend everyone start their own!

Yours my fine friend--try to 'bake' a baby hahahah

  • "making" a baby just didn't sound quite as entertaining.

  • I guess that's true!  So it's purposeful and funny, even better :)

You will be sooo cute with one in the oven!

Derek's response to my baking a baby in the next 1001 days.

    "WHAT??"

Followed by my explanation that 1001 days is over 30 months, and we were planning on TTC after our 2nd anniversary which is 18 months away.  I think hearing 1001 days just sounded like it was so soon.

  • :)

How long did it take you to do your list?  Can one put things one already does (volunteer work and Xmas cards, etc)  or are they all new goals?

It took me a few hours.  I looked at a lot of other lists to get ideas when I got stuck.  Then called my family to ask for ideas too.  I was really impressed with some of the help I got!

I think the point of the list is to challenge yourself above your norm.  So let's say you volunteer 10 hours per month now, make a goal to bump it up to 15 hours for a few months.  Or if you send out xmas cards now, maybe make a goal to make your own xmas cards this year.

  • You're such a goal pusher :P ppbbbbtttt!

If I volunteer more I may burn out, but I'll find a new avenue or something...Ok, my goal is to come up with my list by the end of the week...

    LOL

What can I say, I like to push people.

  • When I read 'bake a baby' (I did think it was intentional) I thought of this: http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/01/why-suzy-needs-therapy.html

    *Love* that website.

The Cake Wreck blog is a guilty pleasure of mine.  That cake was hilarious.

  • That cake is creepy creepster

    Love that website :)

  • You inspired me to start my own list so you can scratch that one off your list!!!  It's hard once you start getting towards the end.  I'm stumped so I'm searching for more ideas :)

  • I decided to do one as well, and DH is considering doing one, also.  I stayed up late to finish my list last night, haha.  I will post it on my blog tonight and link in siggy.  I am really excited about doing these!
  • Yahh!  I'll cross it off my list and put a link in my blog to yours later tonight.
  • very cool ladies!!!!

I think its awesome that a bunch of us are doing this!

We should have a weekly check in on like Fridays to see what if any goals have been accomplished!

  • Let's do it!

I'm already working on a few.  I also looked into taking a German course to start learning a new language.  I was going to do Italian...but couldn't find a course that would work for me, so German it is.  I'm thinking of starting it in the Spring.

  • Jaye I took 3 years of German in H.S. Its kinda hard...But fun.

    Really?  That's awesome!

My cousins all took it in HS.  I always wanted to learn because there were times when it was difficult to communicate with my Dad's Mum.  She had such a thick accent, and I think she found it easier to still speak pseudo German sometimes.

Anyways, even though she has since passed on, I still want to learn.  I love Germany.  I would love to take Derek there one day and actually be able to speak it, even a little.

Hey, English is a German-derived language, right? Can't be too hard! Tongue Tied

MH knows some German...you two can chat! While wearing lederhosen and eating wienerschnitzel.

  • I'm totally going to come over one day and just start speaking German.  It will be like a bonding experience for us.

  • Kirstin I think that's a good idea.  It will keep us motivated and on track!
  • I love this idea!  I'm going to start composing my list...
