Saving a website so you can access offline?

Hi I have non-gadget, but technology related question.

I have created a simple networking website using NING for my HOA neighborhood.  I need to show the website to the board at the meeting tonight, but I am not guaranteed to have an internet connection at the venue.

Is there a way I can save the website on my computer so it will "work" even when I'm not online?  Obviously I know I wont be able to post things, see the most recent updates, etc, but I would like to give them a general idea of the functionality of it.

Any ideas?  The thought of not being "connected" gives me the shakes haha.

Re: Saving a website so you can access offline?

  • Ummm, you can technically save it to your computer, though I don't think the links will work. There are a few options: if you created it in a website editing program, you could open the file in it and the links will probably work in there, depending on the program.

Or, you can just create screen captures and use photoediting to put circles over the links, then open the next screen to show where it would go. My DH worked for an online software firm and that's what they would do.
