Help:) Best Classic Baby Books

Hello ladies:)  I don't really post here anymore but I lurk often.  I know there are lots of mommies on this board and I thought you ladies could help me.

A very good friend of mine will be having twins in June and I'd like to slowly start buying her some great classic books for the twins when they are born.

I was wondering if you mommies could recommend some of your favorites along with the any classics you remember were special as a kid.  As of now I'm thinking Dr. Seuss, Good Night Moon, The Giving Tree, Where the Sidewalk Ends, etc.

Any suggestions?  I'd like to get a few books from each age range like when they are babies to when they are toddlers, kids, etc.  TIA:)

Re: Help:) Best Classic Baby Books

  • Corduroy is another good one I bought for my daughter yesterday
  • Harold and the Purple Crayon, Where the Wild Things Are, The Little Prince, The Hungry Caterpiller, Love You Forever...I'm sure I'll think of more later.
  • Brown bear, brown bear what do you see?

Guess how much I love you?

  • I'm partial to Santa Mouse. Although most likely not a classic, it was the first book I learned how to read all by myself Smile

I also love the books Snowmen at Night and Snowmen at Christmas. Dr. Suess books are great because they help to teach phonetics and are just plain silly!
