Have you carved yours yet? Any traditions, tips, etc?
Planning to carve ours this week.
Re: Pumpkin Carving
We'll probably carve ours Halloween week. Now they're just decorations outside our front door.
Every year when we carve pumpkins we watch scary movies. That's about as "traditiony" as we get.
And the only tip I have for carving is to cut open a black garbage bag or two and tape them to the floor. Use that for your carving area so you have super easy cleanup.
I bought one of those kits that come with the cutting tools and a stencil book at Michael's last year.
I haven't picked out a pattern yet though.
I am a fan of the "Barfing" pumpkin, but I am sure we will just carve our names like we have for the past couple years we had a place to decorate.
We will probably do it this weekend.
I had to google barfing pumpkin, and found this:
I think we are going to do them next week. DH and I always carve them together to see who does it best. I have been crowned Champion Pumpkin Carver for the past 6 years - we will see if I still hold the title for 2009!!
We also like to bake the pumpkin seeds - DH's real reason for carving.
