Playoffs for CFB?

So my sister's boyfriend and I got into this heated discussion earlier this week about CFB getting rid of the BCS and just doing a playoff instead. I know a playoff will never happen in CFB - and for good reason - but what are your thoughts on the BCS vs. playoff vs. neither?

No playoffs.  I do think the current system / B(C)S needs to be altered in some way, however.

I am all for a playoff system for CFB 1-A. 1-AA already uses it and I think it is great. It gives all teams an equal chance of winning. Enough teams intermix their conferences to know how everyone else plays, so if you are good enough to win your conference, they should be able to come up with a playoff scenerio.

I definitely think there should be playoffs! There is a huge empty spot between the end of the season and the bowl games--wasted time. Playoffs would be good for schools ($$) and good for the sport. I am so sick of all the BCS drama every year, and it definitely looks like it will happen again this year given all the one-loss teams.

And yes, I know there are exams, but hey the NCAA basketball players somehow manage their schedule during March Madness.  NCAA football players should be able to figure it out.

The current system is a crock.  I think play-offs would work, but there will be flaws in any system.

I'm all for a playoff although we aren't in any shape to play in one this year.  For us being in a non BCS conference hinders our recruiting therefore putting teams like us behind the 8 ball for the season ever starts.  We still compete but it would be nice not to make recruits choose between us and a BCS school

I am pro playoff. I think the current system is horrible.

I think I could agree to some sort of '+1' structure (so that the top 4 teams could play for it at the end of the year...maybe this would finally shut up Pete Carroll / all the USC blowhards).  But I think one of the best parts about college football is the fact that every game is so significant / meaningful.  Plus, I love the heated debates at the end of the season as to which team is better / which win was more impressive, etc.
