Hey Ladies I was just wondereing what everyone is doing to celebrate the Fourth of July next week!?
I'll start:
My parents are coming down from West Virginia and we are going to Myrtle Beach with them and my cousin, his wife, and their little girl who live in Simpsonville. We're staying in a 3br 3 bath condo the Avista in North Myrtle.
This is particularly unique for us as we haven't vacationed to MB since the early 90s and also we've never vacationed with my cousin and his wife before. I usually only saw them at Christmas as a kid, and before I moved to SC I hadn't seen them since Christmas 2000! Anyway, we're trying this "Family togetherness" thing. I'm interested to see how it goes, especially since my husband, and my cousin's wife both hate the beach!
What do you all have planned? Trips? BBQ's? Family time? Relaxing?
Re: 4th of July Plans
We're actually heading to Myrtle Beach to visit my IL's. We'll be there Thursday night through sometime Saturday. We both decided that we just need an "us" day, so that's what next Sunday will be.
Enjoy MB. It'll be busy, but it is definitely possible to find things outside of the typical touristy places. And of course, there's always the BEACH!!!! Which is what I'm waiting for!!!!
My dad is getting married on the 5th, so beginning on thursday I am picking my aunt and cousin up in Charlotte and we are setting up the wedding site. Friday is a relaxing 4th at my dad's pool, lots of food, drinking, and fun! Saturday is the wedding so more food, drinking, and fun, Sunday is recovery before work on Monday! I'm ready though we have been planning this since February.
MrsZP2B: where in WV is your family from? I have a ton of family still living up there!
MRSD 07 - who knows, maybe we'll run into each other there!
nbrockwell - I grew up in New Martinsville, WV. It's at the base of the northern panhandle between Wheeling and Parkersburg. I went to college in Morgantown. My husband is originally from Clarksburg, WV.
Where is your family?
That would be too funny. :-)
I'm pretty sure we'll be on the beach for the most of Friday (assuming the weather is nice of course). My IL's live right "on the line" between MB & NMB so we'll be in that general area. I can't wait!!! It'll actually be the first summer holiday I/we've spent in MB in a long time!!!
Hope you have a great time!!!
nbrockwell - WHAT a small world! one of my husband's cousins graduated in Parkersburg in 99... what year did you graduate?
