Okay ladies, time for updates! How and what is everyone doing this week?
QOTD: How do you feel about vaccinations... for yourself and your [future] kids? (ie. are you doing a normal vaccination schedule or delayed? will you be getting the flu shot? the H1N1? etc)
If we already covered this and I'm just having a forgetful moment, feel free to suggest another question!

Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday
CD 1 here. Last cycle before TTC.
QOTD: We did all the vaccinations, on schedule, when Ren?e was little. I hated putting her through it, but it was "how it's done" so we did it. There seem to be more now - for things like the chicken pox?! - so feeling less inclined to do every single vax that is scheduled. I lean towards not wanting my kid vax'd at all, but also understand the public health side of it. Tough decision that we're going to have to talk about a lot. We do hope to homeschool, so we wouldn't have to worry about school requirements if we decided not to.
As for me, I never get the flu or a flu shot, but caved when my doctor recommended it this year because we'll be TTC. Will probably also get the H1N1, too. Not rational, or even well-researched, but doing it before we get pregnant seemed like a reasonable step.
Annie had a big week. She got her ears pierced! She looks so cute with her sparkly little diamonds. She was really good for havig it done and they haven't bothered her at all.
We are following the set vaccination schedule. With me working in a hospital lab I am exposed to everything. I want her as covered as possible. I got the flu shot and so did Carol. Annie is still too young. I am undecided as of yet on the H1N1. I am actually required to get it for work, but I may decline because I worry about that one. I know it is supposed to be safe, but I worry they came out too fast with it.

Nothing new - just two cute, opinionated, loving, and and determined little boys living in my house. Oh, who both STILL have a horrendous cough - but no fevers and seem to feel just fine.
We did all of the vaccines on schedule (I also work in a hospital and bring home everything.) They have always gotten the flu shots and will be getting them this weekend. I am trying to get them the H1N1 vaccine since they are in full time preschool and b/c of me. I will get H1N1 b/c of work and L will get it b/c of a chronic medical condition.
11 weeks today, and feeling much better than before. The food aversions have toned down big time, and while I'm still experiencing nausea, it's nothing like it was before. C's parents arrive tomorrow when we get to them the news!!! I can't wait to see their faces! We're also one week from our next appt, and the following day is our u/s - I can't wait to hear/see our baby!
QOTD: As far as what I know to this point, I'm for a delayed schedule. As for flu/h1n1, I've been skeptical of them in the past, but my midwife recommends I get both, and since I work with 600something people, I'm going to go with her recommendation. I believe I will be getting both at my appointment next week.

Well, I guess the biggest thing so far this week (excluding U/S tomorrow) is that Trav felt the LO kick for the first time on Monday night... just a small bump, but it was neat. Now every night when we get in bed, he rolls towards me and puts his hand on my belly. Its sweet.
Otherwise, just rolling along!
QOTD: We're planning to do full vaccinations, but on a delayed schedule... no more then two at a time. I have a general schedule that I've found by checking out a few different doctor recs, but will make the final decision with whatever pediatrician we end up using.
As for me... I've never had the flu shot, nor can I remember when it was that I last had the flu (probably college), so I don't plan to start now. I'm also not planning to get the H1N1 since I'm not in a high risk environment. I'm just being very careful about staying away from sick people and will go to my doc IMMEDIATELY if I notice any weird symptoms. It just scares me a bit to inject myself with something which, last time I checked, had not been extensively tested on pregnant women. Especially after reading about what happened with that "swine flu" vaccine in the 50s(?) and people getting Guillion-Burre.

Ella is doing pretty well this week. We are starting to get a bit crazy about staying in all winter. It is going to be really tough. My best friend has two kids and both she and the kids are constantly sick so I don't know how much I will get to see her this winter. She actually has yet to have a sick free week in her house since Ella has come home so she has not seen her since the hospital. I am very sad about this.
Ella is having more awake time so that is cool and we think she is smiling at us sometimes.
We are following the standard vaccine schedule. I am pro vaccince and feel that the links to provlems have been studied extensivly and a link has never been found. S and both have gotten the flu shot this year and Ella got all her 2 month vaccines done at the hospital. S also got dtap when we got the flu shot since a pertussis booster is now reccomended. If we can get the H1N1 we will but I don't know if we will be able to. I hope I at least qualify since I will be exposed at work. I didn't need to get the shot since I had pertussis (whooping cough) a few years back and yes I got it from students who were not immunized! Let me tell you whooping cough is no joke. I understand why their is an vaccine for it I have never (with the exception of my last illness been that sick) and I was an adult I can't imagine what it would do to a baby.Just a note for people with infants our Dr told us that babies are not fully protected until after the 3rd shot. So we were told that people who will be spending time with Ella will be getting the pertusis booster.
We are supposed to be back in court tomorrow but I heard it might be postponed. I am kind of over all this waiting and all the delays. I am hoping for good news.
QOTD: We have to vaccinate our foster children, it's a rule. However, I am all for a very very very delayed schedule and leaving out the convenience vaccines entirely. PBS' current doc is letting me spread them out since she has terrible reactions to all of them. I am on the hunt for single and/or, preservative-free doses of the MMR shot and a few others. It's just too much for their little bodies to get them all at once, imho.
No updates to speak of.
AOTD: I am also pro-vax. I haven't seen any studies that indicate any major problems with them. I don't want to be the woman who doesn't vax her children for fear of Autism only to have them get a different terrible disease and then spread it to all the other crunchy children and those who are too sick to be vaccinated. *Whew* sorry for the rant :-)
I've never had a flu shot before, but I'll do it (and the H1N1) this year b/c I work in a pharmacy and will be in and out of at least four elementary schools. Not only do I not want the flu, I don't want to pass it to people it could potentially kill (elderly, otherwise sick ppl, and disabled children).
Its not the vax-ing i'm against...its the preservatives, heavy metals, and other yucky things that they put in the vaccines that I dont like. As duchess mentioned, we're forced to vax our foster kids and any bio kids will be attending public schools so we'll have to vax them also. my goal will be to delay as much as possible and seek out preservative/mercury free.
A and I have both declined the H1N1 and seasonal flu shots.

We've made some good progress in getting ready to ttc. Tracking my fertility signs is going really well and I feel like I understand my body on a whole different level than ever before. I've been able to successfully kick some bad habits, and form new ones...Who knew I would learn to love green tea almost as much as coffee??? Seriously, that was a huge surprise! I've got a few dr appointments coming up, and although our start date has been pushed back to Jan, we're both hoping that we'll be ready a cycle (or two) earlier.
QOTD: Vaccines. We think they are important, but still have lots of research left to do on timeline. N got the seasonal flu shot. I did not. We both decided not to get the H1N1 shot/mist.
A day late but...last night I told my brother about the baby. He was so happy and surprised - it was really cute!
QOTD: We most likely will go with a delayed vaccine schedule. I mean I didn't get Hep B until I was 18 years old - why does an infant need it? So we'll space out what we can. As for K and I and the flu/N1H1 - we've talked about a LOT. Of course our OB reccommends I get them but I've never had a flu shot before and really need to think about it. At this point we're leaning towards us both getting the regular flu shot (thermisol free version) and then waitingon the N1H1. It hasn't really affected Upstate NY that much with just a handful of cases. But if we hear of a case at my school or school or more or more in the area then I may go ahead and get it.
I'm late because we're in OKC at my cbe conference and visiting C's brother and his family.
Temps still high and I'm planning on testing Monday morning.
We're most likely going to do a delayed schedule.
If this cycle didn't take, I may get the regular flu shot, but I won't be getting the H1N1.
i'm late because...well, i don't really have an excuse other than work has been INSANE lately. i think we've finally gotten everything fixed, though, so hopefully it'll get back to normal.
things are good here. we had a baby shower out of town last weekend at her parents' house, one yesterday at my work, and we have a final shower on sunday with friends and local family.
qotd: yes, we will be doing a delayed schedule for him. we'll both be getting the seasonal and h1n1 shots, as well. i've pre-registered for mine with the dept of health, and she'll be getting hers at the ob's office as soon as it comes in there.
