Re: ~~ Oh Suchaclancy~~

  • Didn't mean for you to be flamed -- just for you to get some ideas other than giving your cats up.  I am very much against "getting rid of" pets, as you are aware!
  • although now I am a little scared to post on the pet board...lol

  • I used to be as well.  I will admit that sometimes "they" can seem scary, but mostly it's just that everyone wants to educate people who ask questions or post things that make you go "WTF?"  Obviously the "getting rid of my pets" and "my dog got hurt when I left him outside while I was at work" posts receive harsher replies.  A lot of the women there (myself included) are very involved in animal rescue, so it is disturbing to me when people want to get rid of their pets, and I admit that I am judgmental about it.  I was hoping they'd give better advice than I could since I don't have a cat and know nothing about cats -- it seems like they did give you some advice and it sounds like you're willing to try some things.  I hope it works and you're able to keep your cats.  Best of luck!
  • I think anytime someone has an issue like this, someone posts it on the pets bored and they start flaming. It's a bit intimidating.
  • I think some people may flame on there, but most just want to give advice, and the people that usually do get flamed, deserve it. If people go on there with an attitude of wanting to help their pets and the situation then they are more than helpful, but lots of people post things that are seriously flameworthy!

  • But she didn't post on there.

Clanc probably could've "requested" help for her on the pets board in a bit nicer fashion.

People automatically assumed she was going to do something terrible or that she'd already made up her mind, but she sounds very open minded to me. I just feel bad when people ask for advice and get flamed for it. That shouldn't happen.

  • No one said she did post on there. But I am saying that any of the national boards are going to flame for certain things, it's not just the pets board. I think only one of the pet girls were rude, I think most were very helpful. Courtney, since she seems willing to do what she can which is awesome, is unlike a lot of the people who do get flamed on that board, because many just want validation for getting rid of their pets.
  • Just an FYI....I did not mean to start any drama just being my sarcastic self.  I was looking for aadvice and that is exactly what I got....just some a little more rude than others (more on the pet board than here)

  • I didn't think we were being dramatic.
