For those that ate/will eat their year-old wedding cake
I know this is random. But do you want it to be a private thing, just between you and YH? Or do you think you'll include family/friends if they wanted to join in?
ETA: I'm talking about the first anniversary tradition.

Ditto this, except ours was gross! It got a little melted on the drive home from San Diego, then I don't think we wrapped it well enough when we froze it.
How did you wrap yours up? I found instructions somewhere online. I think all I did was wrap it in foil and saran wrap 5 times and then put it in the back of the freezer. I hope it's not awful!
You are going to laugh at this... We totally didnt wrap it. After our reception, we brought it home in the box the reception place put it in. My MOH threw it in the refridgerator for us as we were leaving for our honeymoon the next morning. When we got back, I just threw it in the freezer. I put a piece of scotch tape on the top to keep it closed.
I checked on it about 6 months later and it wasnt freezer burnt or anything. Then when we took it out to thaw I checked the frosting for mold. There was none, but I was sure it would have been moldy when we cut it.. Nope, no mold there either... And it was actually BETTER then i remembered it being..
boo hoo we didn't save ours. thanks for reminding me, our marriage is giong to crumble.
The top of ours was fake! mzjackson, I might be with you
Our bakery will make us a one year cake and I'm all for sharing! We hardly have 'private' moments in our house anyway.
I've got 39 days to go! Eeep!
I hope it tastes good. I wraped it in a ton of saran wrap, then tin foil, then into a freezer proof bag!
Our cake was sooooo good and all I got was that one little bite. So I am really hoping it tastes good
I voted just DH and I

Our bakery does anniversary cakes for our 1 year, 5 year, 10 year, and I think 25 year anniversaries, so we had a fresh duplication for our one year. It was yummy!
I said it was private because I like to keep our anniversary just us. Now that we have Bella, it will be different, but I still want to keep as much privacy and intimate moments I can with DH and me.
That took forever to type one-handed.
Just hubby and I shared our cake. We got home from our 1 year anniversary trip (little resort in PA since we lived in NJ at the time) and pulled it out of the freezer. I wrapped it in saran and foil and it was fine. Ours was yummy! We didn't get 'cake' though. Our wedding cake was cheesecake and was served with fresh strawberries
While I wanted to ensure that the cake was in edible condition, we only waited till our 6 month anniversary to eat it.
I voted for the more the merrier option, but we ate the first slices together, alone. After that, that just leaves more cake for us to eat and get fat on so we said whoever wanted some could have some that way it was less for us to eat.
