Texting

My mom has recently started texting. She texts me the most random stuff. I never thought she would jump on the texting and Facebook bandwagon but she has!

Re: Texting

  • It's kind of weird for the older generations to jump on.  Most of my aunts and uncles are on FB, including my mom and dad.  It's a little weird.  I have to watch what I say because my mom is a silent FB'er...she reads but doesn't post....

    CRAFTY ME

    my read shelf:
Kasi's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)

  • My mom does this too..she just learned how. Somehow she thought she could make up her own acronyms. Now, WAU means Where are you? haha

Oh..and now LOL doesn't mean laughing out loud..it means Lots of Love, according to her. haha

  • my mom got on the texting badnwagon a little while ago. probably because she mostly noticed that that's how I do 90% of my communicating. :)
  • That's too funny Robyn. I can't really picture your Mom doing that.

Rosie-LOL makes me think of that email I posted awhile back that said LOL has become the thing to type when there isn't anything left to say. :)

  • My mom still isnt big on texting, but everyone has a damn FB now. I don't really mind my mom, but I feel like I have to censor myself b/c of MIL. Oh, and some of my ILs friends have added me on FB!! WTF??? and I feel like I have to add them.
  • My mom is on FB too. I just got a request from two of my aunts, who are in their 70's.  I was shocked that they had FB pages.
  • My parents started texting pretty much as soon as all us kids got cellphones. We text each other at least once everyday.

My dad and I will text each other the jokes on our string cheese wrappers.

Neither one has a FB account. Some of my aunts and DH's relatives have one and keep sending me requests. Some I accept some I don't. But like becki I do feel the need to censor myself now.

that would SUCK. I know my mil has one, but she's smart & doesn't try to add me. ;)

  • I can't imagine my MIl ever getting one. But SIL has one. i should probably add her as a friend one of these days. I still can't find my mom to add her.

I have a lot of CWs on mine, some of whom I would never have wanted. Just the other day I got a request from someone I don't care to have on FB. But what am I gonna do? I don't want to create friction at work over FB!
