I am just starting to run and I have been slowly getting my time down (still not very fast, it will get there though

)... what sneakers do you recommend? The cheaper the better
Re: Does anyone run here?
I run (a little)...and because I was silly and just randomly bought running shoes when i first started, and then ended up injured because I had the wrong shoes....I always recommend you get fitted at a running store.
You can give them any price range you want. I usually say under $100.
I know there's a flying feet or something in east york (because the ladies here just told me about it! LOL) but before I went down to MD to a running store.
I've started to run. I want to run a 5k next spring/summer/fall (not sure which!). My problem is that school is now in the way. I am exhausted by the time I get home. I really need to get into a routine of working out as soon as I leave school. I go every weekend to the gym.
*ETA* Duh... you were asking about a shoe. I have a pair of New Balance that I just got. They are running shoes. I went for a lighter shoe, because that is what I prefer. So whatever feels comfortable and if you like a lighter shoe, feels light as well is what I can recommend. Mine were $40, but on sale from $75 when I got them.
I got a pair of Asics running shoes when I started running late this summer, and I have really liked them. This is the same brand I used when I played pretty serious volleyball, and they worked for me then, as well- they were $50 on sale from $75.
I do have to agree with PP, though, that if you don't know what you are looking for to go to a running store to get fitted, since everyone's feet are different, and you will need different kinds of shoes to support you based on whether your arches are high or low, and the way your rear foot and fore foot are shaped.
