iPod Touch New Update

Seriously?  It's $5?!  I didn't know getting it that I'd have to pay to update it the software.

I've heard that the new update has messed with the Touch - anyone have this happen?  I have a 2G.

I'm probably still going to buy it, though - none of the apps work with the older version now.

Re: iPod Touch New Update

  • My son has a second generation Touch and updated his software when the new version came out.  He hasn't mentioned any issues with it and he uses it every day.
  • It used to be $9.99 so when the price dropped I figured I was getting a deal.

  • F/U: I caved and bought it - otherwise, most of the apps won't work.  Seems to be okay, so far.
  • I"m confused. I just bought a 64GB touch for DH and the update ran automatically today...?

  • I don't know that the update that you pay money for was mandatory, my itouch worked just fine before I bought the update. The update among other things allows me to c&p stuff from emails/websites to save them to my notes and some other functions that I don't use. If I didn't want that function I probably would not have purchased the update.
