Vegassssss

We just decided that we are going to Vegas for our one year anniversary! I can't believe it has crept up on us so quickly.  I am looking for recommendations for shows to book while we are there.  I don't want to wait for the last second to get tickets.  Shoot out ideas, please!

Re: Vegassssss

  • So much fun!  You are going to have a blast.  We went last yr for Dh's bday, and were pleasently surprised overall.

We saw Cirque LOVE, and loved it!  Great show.  It was our first Cirque show and we were very impressed.  We also saw a concert (Jimmy Buffett) and a brulesque (sp) show, which was quite interesting :

The highlight of our trip though was the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon!  It was worth every penny.  It is a bit on the expensive side (almost $500/pp), but so amazing.  The tour includes RT hotel to airport, helicopter tour, light lunch (including champagne) at canyon, lasting about 4 hrs total.  Our tourguide was amazing.  We went with Sundance Helicopters, which was one of the two recommended by our hotel.  They did a fantastic job.

And if there is a show/restaurant you want to check out, jsut have conceriage book for you (even if you are still in MIA), they are very helpful, at least w/ us they were.  We stayed at the MGM Signature and LOVED it.  And we also rented a convertible for our stay, and worth every penny.  Parking is free everywhere, including valet.  We figured we wouldn't have to search for taxies or metrorail, and for just a bit more, we had the convenience of our car... plus DH played golf one day about 1.5 hrs out which is the original reason we rented it in the first place.

Oh, and if either one of you play golf, I highly recommend the course we went to... simply amazing.  The scenery was breathtaking.  Wolf Creek at Mesquite, NV.  It was a drive, but no biggie when hanging out w/ hubby.  =)

HTH!  LOL  I also have pics and more reivew on my blog (Oct/Nov 08)

Yup, we went to Crazy Horse.  It was okay, but I think the American show (not sure name, just ask around) is better, w/ better music.  If you end up going to the one at CH, get a booth in the back, directly to the right of the soundbooth (first one)... trust me.  Wink

  • we saw Zumanity... it's really good

I like staying at the MGM- it's really nice, and there seem to always be good deals. Wherever you stay, I recommend being close to the monorail.

  • I just got back from Vegas.  Over the past 4 years, I have seen Love, Mystere, The Phantom of the Opera, and Bette Midler.  Love was by far the best!!!!  It was just wonderful!

I have also stayed at the MGM and have been very happy.  I like to gamble there too.

We got an amazing package deal at the Rio (like $40/night) and have stayed here twice.  Huge bang for your buck.  Big comfy rooms. Stay in the Ipanema tower.

The Red Rock was another amazing stay.  It is far off the strip, but we stayed there for the spa and to be closer to nature.  AMAZING hotel and spa.  I got also got an amazing rate on hotwire.
