Need anniversary ideas!
Our first anniversary is coming up so DH and I are trying to find something to do. It's the first weekend in January so we need somewhere that maybe has winter activities. We like winter hiking/snowshoeing and are thinking about skiing but I've never tried it before (and we don't want to spend a fortune). We really want somewhere with nice views more than anything though. So...anyone have any ideas for places to go in New England? We're willing to drive a while to get somewhere nice

VT! We're headed to the Killington, Woodstock, & Quechee area in Nov. We usually go every year and it's a blast- so much to do! In the winter there's lots of people, there's great places to eat, and tons of package deals for romantic getaways at the inns and b&bs in the area. There's also lots of places for skating and cross country skiing.
Also, I love going to Newport, RI whenever and they always have lots and lots of winter activities. The mansions will be decorated for the holidays, I'm sure there's packages, and so many good places to eat and visit.
