Pottery Barn Outlet - Is it worth it?

Hi!  I thought I would post on the SC board in hopes that some of you may have shopped at the PB Outlet in Gaffney.  My husband and I are on the tail end of some major renovations in our house so now the fun stuff begins...decorating!  For those of you that have been to the store, do you think it's worth a 3 hour drive? We are in desperate need of rugs and furniture for our living room.  TIA!

Re: Pottery Barn Outlet - Is it worth it?

  • I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend.  Even for an outlet, the stuff was still out of my price range, but they do have a lot of variety and it is a lot less than stuff from the full price pottery barn store.

Even if you don't find what you like there, there are a ton of other outlet stores there.  Since you're looking for rugs, there is a "Rug and Home" store right near the outlet.  Never been there, but they advertise like crazy on TV here.

  • I agree-Pottery Barn-even on tax free weekend a few months ago-was far to pricey for me. I understand making a high price purchase if it's going to last and be used frequently, but even then, I walked out of there without making a purchase.

I do love the ideas they have in their magazines for home decorations. I just use "Home Goods" or those stores for the actual purchases.
Honestly, if you're looking for a rug, I highly suggest checking out Capel Rugs on Woodruff Road (near Roper Mtn Rd) in Greenville- we've bought 3 rugs from them thus far and they're still nearly like new (and with 3 dogs running around on them daily that says something) Big Smile

  • I have been in the outlet many, many times and have never purchased anything.  They have lots of cute, children's things, but I don't have children so that's no good to me ;0)  But ditto Rug & home... it's a HUGE store!  The outlet prices are not so "outlety" as my DH likes to say!!  To answer your question... to me, not worth a 3 hour drive.

  • If you are going to drive 3 hours- you should hit IKEA in Charlotte.  Worth the drive!!
