Tucson Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Anyone know of volunteer work around town or a good company that has work from home. . . I just quit my job b/c it was heavy lifting and I'm 24 weeks pg, I'm getting super bored hanging out at home and need something to occupy my time
Re: Passing the time
Try the volunteer center of tucson:

I haven't signed up (shame on me...) but from what I understand is you sign up and give the information on what you are interested in and they match you up with volunteer opportunities.
I used the Volunteer Center to help me find a place as well - I ended up at the Ronald McDonald room at UMC but it takes several weeks to get approved to volunteer there (I think it took me 2+months) because of all the hospital regs. But the Center's site has lots of options on it.
This might be a good one for you since you can really fit it into your schedule - I know someone who used to do it like two mornings/wee delivering meals and really liked it.

The humane society has volunteers that call new pet owners that just adopted and asks how things are going, see if there are any issues, make suggestions for training places or help relay information, etc. I did it for a while. It was something you can do on your own time as long as you have a blocked number. They just print a list out for you and you call anytime before 6pm.
Also, you could be a reading seed tutor at an elementary school helping one or two kids a week with extra reading practice. I love my reading seed tutors that come to my class
PS, I am so jealous that you can quit your job and be a SAHM, so so so jealous!
