Farmers Market at UCI

Does anyone frequent it or been lately?
There is a farm stand much closer to me but really small.  I'm thinking about going hitting the FM morning but wondering if it will be worth the ~25min drive.

Re: Farmers Market at UCI

  • I'm interested in hearing responses  because I didn't even know they had a farmers mkt at UCI. Ooops.
  • I've never been, but my favorite fish vendor sells there.

This post is totally useless. Yay!

  • I've been there many times and it's great.  Not huge, but a nice size, and they have my favorite Gouda seller (Winchester) as well as some great jewelry makers that always end up sucking me in.  And TONS of gorgeous orchids.
  • We go there often.  It's a nice size.  There is a woman that sells the yummiest bread.

You can get sashimi grade fish there. Good stuff. The actual storefront is off of Commonwealth in Fullerton.

  • Not that I'll ever go, but when is it held, and where at UCI?
  • I know you live in HB (or I think you do), you might want to check out the FM in seal beach/long beach.  it's in the parking lot of joe's crab overlooking the marina.

It's in the In-n-Out parking lot, I think.

Irvine Center on the corner of Bridge and Campus (across from UCI)

Thanks!  I see it's on Sunday, perfect.  I'll have to check it out.  Unfortunately, most of OC FMs are during the week when I'm shackled to my desk.

  • I used to work M-F as well, so sunday was perfect.  it's most of the vendors from the HB FM (friday afternoons), the fish guy is really good.  I forgot to mention it's sunday mornings.

    have fun!

  • ssinca, yes.  I haven't been since I walked away disappointed last Spring - I should swing by again.

I heard the UCI has music, too?  Last time H and I were in SF, we stumbled upon a FM with a jazz band first thing in the morning.  It was the perfect way to start the day.  I was hoping to find something similar...ho mum. lol

  • Are you talking about 88.9/KUCI? It's a great station, very eclectic since they pride themselves on only playing anything considered out of the mainstream.

I used to go here on a fairly regular basis when I lived in HB and was usually pretty happy with them.
