Is anyone familiar with home health care? Has anyone had to set this up for a parent? Are there places you would recommend?
Re: Home health care
I'm the HR manager for a local home health care agency.
If you are looking for help for your parents- try talking to their doctor's office to find out if there is a place they usually refer to. The social workers at the area hospitals, and the Alzheimer's association also have great referral lists. There is a book full of resources (called the Resource Guide) that lists all of the area home health agencies, adult day centers etc. Most businesses in the industry have a copy in the office. If their doctors' office doesn't have one- see if they know a way to get you a copy.
I hope that helps get you started. It's definately a difficult decision to make. If you have more questions- let me know. I'd be glad to help. I try to check the boards daily.
