Are you guys getting the H1N1 vaccine?
I am really on the fence about the whole thing. I worry about the unknown side effects down the road but I don't want to get the flu either. I haven't had the flu in ages so it makes me not want to get the shot.
Re: Are you guys getting the H1N1 vaccine?
I've gotten the flu shot the last few years, mostly because, similar to annabelle, I'm in school again, and I really can't afford to lose time.
Mind you, they've also run the clinics right here in our office, so I didn't have to go out of my way to get it.
I guess I'm still up in the air about it.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
nOPE,
Have not gotten the flu shot in years and have not gottent he flu; only when I get the shot did I get sick!
Not enough testing done on H1N1 so hells no!
Gotta love the nest and all there silly glitches!
No one in our household will be getting it.

Yeah I'll probably get it..I love vaccines..the more the better..bring it!
I think they'll likely run out before flu season starts..so it will be wasted effort anyway..I always get the flu shot, I have no problems with it.
Nope. My reason: It's just a flu.
DS won't be getting it either (easy decision for us, because he is allergic to eggs).
nope. I had Guillain-Barre almost 2 years ago so it's not recommended that I get any vaccines in case I have an auto immune reaction like that again.
I don't like the idea of giving it to my child - the virus itself hasn't been around long enough for us to know how it affects people long term, and same can be said for the vaccine not being around long enough either.
We're going to continue to keep our immune systems as strong as possible and use natural methods (chiropractic, homeopathy, etc)
This one is a heat-killed virus, so there's no worry about receiving live virus.
I will be getting the shot as soon as it becomes available. Flu vaccines have been around for ages and are safe for everyone that doesn't have a known complication (like an egg allergy), and this one is based on previous vaccines. The only change is the strain, and that changes every year anyway. I really wish there wasn't so much mis-information out there regarding this (and other vaccines).
I would much rather take the very small risk of the vaccination to protect me and Lachlan than gamble on getting the flu and passing it on to him.
