TJ Rockwell's-which location is better?

I think we're going to go to TJ Rockwell's for DH's birthday tomorrow.  Thanks for all of the responses to my earlier post.  I now have a list of restaurants we can try!  He had heard awhile back from some co-workers that TJ Rockwell's was good so that's where he wants to go.  Which location is the better one or are they both the same?  We live in York so Mechanicsburg would probably be closer but we'd be willing to drive to Etown if it's the better location.   TIA!

Re: TJ Rockwell's-which location is better?

  • I have only been to the one in Etown and have enjoyed ourselves when we have been there.  I have no complaints.  Have fun
  • The one in M-burg is nice too -- it used to be the Countryside and just became TJ's like 2 or so years ago so everything is still new and nice and they have a lot of booths which is good cause I like booths more then tables. You can call ahead too!

  • We ate at TJ Rockwells in Mechanicsburg twice and both times it sucked.  The first time the food was good, but the service stunk.  The second time both the food and service stunk, we will never go back and we only live 10 minutes away.

  • I've been to the Mechanicsburg a few times and it was good at those times.  The atmosphere can be a little nosy, but we've always had a good time.

  • Ive only been to the one in E-Town and we live in York.  We have friends that lived closer to it, so thats the one we went to..  I was telling DH this weekend we soon need to go there again.  I have a list of places to go to or try as well!

DITTO! This happened to us but all in 1 visit. I've been to the Etown location and that one is much better IMO.

  • The one in E-town is much better! Plus if you put Both of them in a gps E-ton is actually closer, atleast for us it is...and we live in york too!
  • We ended up going to the one in Mechanicsburg.  We went for an early dinner at 4 p.m.ish so it wasn't super crowed when we got there.  It was crowded when we were leaving, though.  It was funny because we pulled up to TJ Rockwell's and DH says, "Wait a minute, I've been here before!"  Lol.  He had forgotten he had been there years ago for work.  He had gone a different way to get there.

The service was good and the food was really good.  The only thing I wasn't impressed with was my dessert.  It was a smores sundae.  But overall everyone was pretty happy with their food.  We'll have to try the one in Etown.

We have a list of places in the area we want to try!  Thanks for the input!
