Timer for Christmas lights?

Do you have a timer for your outdoor Christmas lights?  Where did you get the device, and how much?

Re: Timer for Christmas lights?

  • Yup-I have something like this, which is in the garage. The extension cords lead in there.

  • We just got one for our Halloween lights....DH got it at Walmart I think it was like $10.  It's really nice because it is a sensor timer, so it senses when it gets dark out and the lights come on, then you pick how long you want them on (2 hour intervals).

  • We bought one at Walgreens last year for about $5 and was difficult to use because it was cheap. So instead DH rigged the lights up to our switch for our outside light. It is very convenient - I turn them on at dark and turn them off when we go to bed :). If you find one that is easy to use please let me know - we would like one for our lights in our backyard.

  • We brought ours at Menards last year. I think it was about $8. It worked really well for us.
  • we've got a few timers for our lights, mostly from target and lowe's. they ranged from $5 to $15
  • We have a timer for our lights, but it is something hardwired.  DH added electrical outlets under the eaves for our holiday decorations.

This year we have some battery operated decor that has a built in timer, and some solar lights.
