Re: BU: Clean Eating

oh good, I hope I can steal meal ideas from you. I also need to get on to the clean food bandwagon. What's the verdict on bread and peanut butter?
Oh, and I hope you feel better soon!

Just read it. Good luck! Now that we're all moved into our new house, we have no excuse to keep eating out like we have been. We're back on the bandwagon too. Hopefully we can all keep each other accountable!
Haha Mames! Totally stolen. I had to, though, since it was my wedding colors and all!
Peanut butter is ok, but only if it is natural peanut butter. Whole wheat bread...eh, it kind of treads on thin water. They say 100% whole wheat bread is ok, but you really need to look for bread that has 5 ingredients or less. I found a loaf without preservatives, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors. I got that for temporary use, but I'm going to start making my own whole wheat bread instead. I'm also severely limiting bread intake in general. I'm trying to get all of my carbs from fruits and veggies instead.
I also got some 100% pure organic honey to use to sweeten things with (if needed), but really trying to stay away from any refined sugar.
On a good note, I just got a call from the dr's office and they got me in tomorrow...phew. I can barely move right now.
Good luck! Where are you getting the guidelines for this from, just out of curiosity.
Yeah mamie... you're the one copying the yellow glaydies with your new obsession.
YAY, good for you! I've been doing a version of this for 4 days now and I feel bonier already, not to mention I have so many less chocolate and sugar cravings, which is wonderful.
This isn't exactly how nature intended, but I am loving the pumpkin spice flax bars from Kashi--so good to satisfy my sweet/crunchy/snack-y cravings.
Also, raw almonds are my new best friend.?
PS-the organic Fuji apples rock my world--so juicy and sweet!?
A variety of places...I've heard about eating clean for quite some time on the caloriecount.about.com forums, but I've done some online research and picked up a copy of Clean Eating magazine. Here is a high level overview:

All in all, it's just eating foods that are as unprocessed as possible and staying away from refined sugars, white flour, stuff like that. I'm also avoiding all artificial sweeteners too. The magazine is great...has some awesome recipes in it.
Whatevs, dandy. I had it first! It's just a coincidence my love of yellow accents followed the yellow glaydies' weddings.
