I'm a stay at home mom who is looking to work from home. I see some adds online and they scare me. Anyone know of a good place to start.
Thanks,
Andrea
Re: Work from home?
I currently work from home 4 days a week. I work in HR for a large health insurance company. Most of the ads you see on Careerbuilder or Monster for Work from Home positions are not legit. Most of the reputible work from home positions are for people who've worked for the company for a while and have transitioned to a telecommuting/WFH situation. Others are jobs that are specilaized, such as web development, curriculum development, graphic design, etc. Also, most companies also ask that you agree not to use WFH while caring for children or the elderly.
I don't mean to be a complete downer, though! On the 9 to 5 board, this question always comes up. You might want to check there and do a search to see if anyone has had experiences with a good, legit company. I've heard some good things about the Virtual Assistant positions.
