my boss is a moron

I like my job, but not my boss. He thinks I'm stupid despite the fact that I have a masters in higher education (the field where I work). Today, I had to call our main gate to get the name of some students on the list so they would be allowed on campus, and he wrote me a script for what to tell them. Um, hello, I've made a phone call before. I know what to say.

He then asked me to check one of my co-workers voicemail since she is out of the office. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that, so he checked it himself. I'm pretty sure that's unethical and possibly illegal.

Ugh. I need a new job.

That's exactly how my old boss was. He would always talk to me like I was stupid and he'd explain everything to me like I didn't understand it. I would just look at him like he was an idiot.  And he always wanted me lie to people for him. I wouldn't ever do it because it made me feel wrong, and there was no reason for the lying.  I worked with him for 2 years before I was finally able to get a new job in this bad economy.

Having a crappy boss can make your job horrible. Hope it gets better.

Although I am in a completely different job/industry, I so understand how you feel.  Your boss can make or break your job.

 So so true. Hence why I am starting to send out resumes....
