Restaurant Recommendation
Hey Ladies,
I'm trying to brainstorm for a night out this weekend, and am totally drawing a blank. Any ideas? We're open to anything and are foodies, so we'd love to try something new.
Thanks!
Re: Restaurant Recommendation
Have you been to LaMerenda on National Ave? It's a tapas place so you can try a bunch of different things. Everything I had there was great and I can't wait to go back.
Other than that I just tried out Charro on Bluemound and thought it was good. The tableside guacamole was excellent.
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then success with condoms! Who would ever have guessed.
This Cluttered Life
How expensive are you willing to go?
I've been wanting to eat at Hinterland (don't let the fact that it's a brew pub fool you ... their food is supposed to be awesome). The beer's good too.
For cheaper eats:
We happened to eat at the Comet Cafe last Saturday night, which was delicious and was featured a few months ago on the Food Network.
For more inspiration, here's the journal sentinel's list of the Top 30 restaurants in the area: List
The owners of Comet recently opened Honeypie in Bayview. It's seriously fabulous.
Price range and cuisine preferences are important info. For super nice, there's always Lake Park Bistro, Bacchus, and Sanford. Down from that, but still very nice, are Roots (never been, but I hear fabulous things), Palms Bistro, Swig, and Coquette Cafe. Coquette and Palms are two of my favorites. Transfer Pizzeria uses tons of local ingredients and gets rave reviews; it's on my to-try list. For more casual fare, Cafe Hollander and Cafe Centraal are two of my faves. Ouzo for Greek, Cubanitas for Cuban, and Cempazuchi for Mexican. Zarletti downtown has good food; if you go, make sure to look at the facade of the building since it's the subject of a complicated lawsuit. I hear good things about Kilowat in the Intercontinental. Osteria del Mondo's has had some fabulous looking fall menus. Seriously, I could talk restaurants all day.
If you go on a Friday, get yourself a $5 martini at Hotel Metro first. Yum.
What's the suit about?
my DH and i went to LaMerenda and we were not impressed. the food was pretty good, but it was so loud in there and uncomfortable.?
i do love Comet, like pp suggested, for a casual meal. ?
Allegations that the developer mislead the buyers regarding the condition of the facade and some other stuff like that. Every time I walk past the building, that's what I think of.
Have fun! I've only been to Fratello's for lunch, but it was pretty good. Nothing earth shattering, but pretty good.
It's right across the street from Hinterland, which I would highly recommend for drinks (and I would love to try their food sometime).
I was going to suggest Fratello's! Did you go yet?
DH and I went there a few weeks ago and really liked it. We want to go back because there was so many things on the menu that we wanted to try! I love the cupcakes for dessert!
No, we're going on Saturday night. I don't know what I am more excited about:
Oh, and I'll have to wait on the cupcakes, since we're coming back to our place for dessert. Our sitter has to leave by 10:00 p.m., so we figured that would keep us from having to end the evening at 9:30 p.m.
