finally blogging again at This Will Be: An Adventure
1. Carter woke me at 3:28am to tell me he wanted to put the toothpaste on his toothbrush in the morning. Great - think it can wait another 3 hours, Kiddo?
2. I leave Sunday for 5 days/4 night in Minneapolis (work conference.) It is the first time I have been away from the kids overnight. I am both excited for some "me time" (although this conference will be a lot of work!) and sad that I'll be gone for so long.
3. Incidently, my father is giving my grief for leaving L home with the kids for that long (as in it isn't fair - not that she can't do it.) Um...hello? I get the kids ready for school every morning alone and this week L has work commitments Tues, Weds, and Thurs for work/school so I am picking them up from school and doing the evening routine solo. Sheesh.
4. My office is really cold. Freezing cold.
5. It is supposed to be beautiful outside today (sunny high in the upper 60s.) I think I am going to bail work a bit early so we can go home and play at the playground before going in for dinner.
6. I think it is funny that I don't get motivated to do my job until about an hour before I leave and then I crank out a days worth of work in an hour. I am like a machine at 3pm.
7. I feel badly that I didn't leave out a donation for AmVets after I told them I'd have a bag of stuff outside this morning. I totally forgot until last night when they called to remind me - but I was too tired to go through our closets to find stuff and inventory it.
8. I applied for the Disney Mom's Panel and made it to round #2. There were 20,000 applicants and only 150 made it to round #2. Now I am waiting to see if I made it to the interview round (25 will make it.) I don't find out for another week. I don't think I will - but it would be fun! And I would get to go to Disney for 5 days in December!
9. It is supposed to rain again this weekend. UGH.
10. I am off to buy L an early Christmas gift. A digital scanner so when she is reading material for her dissertation, she can directly scan it into the computer. I did a ton of reserach last night and found what I hope is the best one. To make the present better, I will go back through the books she's read and scan all of those in. She will love it!!

2. I had been feeling so much better... Then I threw up on Sunday night and Monday morning. Decent day so far today... Keeping my fingers crossed!
3. 2nd midwife appointment tomorrow. So anxious to hear the heartbeat!! Then u/s the next day!!! I just want to see/hear the baby and know that everything is okay.
4. Telling coworkers this week. Will be nice to not be hiding my belly anymore.
5. With this cold weather we've been having, I'm feeling so ready for the holidays.
6. I just realized I think I forgot to turn off the heat this morning when we left...
7. Out of the next 6 weeks, I only have one full-40 hour week (well, and one other is almost a full week) - between Dr's appts, holidays, and a day off. Wahoo!
8. Typing that really makes me feel like Xmas is right around the corner. I have no idea what we are getting for anyone! Or even what to get for C!
9. I had a wicked craving last night for General Tso's chicken. Sadly, I did not get any.
10. I splurged on decaf Starbucks this morning. It was goooood.

1. christmas plane tickets are ridiculously expensive this year.
2. especially when you need extras b/c DW's family is taking a trip to CO (cool) and you have a wedding to attend in NJ 12/27 (seriously?!?)
3. I am sad it is almost winter, dark and cold.
4. I miss TX where our current weather IS winter.
5. C will not entertain moving to Austin.
6. but I sometimes contemplate applying for jobs there anyway to convince her.
7. I am a little torn about if we should start TTC in Jan or April.
8. C is not and this is becoming an issue b/c we'd said Jan.
9. My house is really cold.
10. Have I mentioned I don't like the cold?
1. I was so excited about mandykatie's meatball recipe that I made them for dinner last night and they were fabulous. E hated my last attempt, but really liked these.
2. I can't wait to have leftovers for lunch
3. My office is ridiculously cold
4. I'm going to HRC's "testifying for city council" training tonight and I'm strangely nervous
5. I'm addicted to my new yummy conditioner. I kinda wanna bury my face in my hair
6. I wish DW and I worked closer together so we could hang out during the day
7. Her commute to work has really sucked lately, and I feel guilty about that...since I'm the one who fell in love with a house on the far side of town
8. It looks like I'm going to have to go to Boston for work in December. I feel cold just thinking about it.
9. I'm reading a tree grows in brooklyn and I love it
10. I'm excited that health reform seems to be moving, incrementally, forward.

10. My right contact lens is driving me crazy!
1) Its open enrollment time and trying to choose a health plan for next year is making my head spin. way too many variables.
2) Number 1 is making me sad and stressed....for a number of reasons....
3) I recently took on a new type of work and its really making me question my expertise. little things like not knowing acronyms totally shakes my confidence. i'm ready to be at the other side of this learning curve. now.
4) we need major healthcare reform. combined with tort reform.
5) i cant pick a movie for tonight...there are too many out i want to see! which is funny b/c last week we didnt go to the movies since there was nothing we wanted to see
6) i'm re-joining weight watchers tomorrow. grumble.
7) we had a really good time in NYC - we're blessed with some wonderful friends.
8) cold weather and dark evenings turn me into a homebody. we're supposed to go over a friends house to carve pumpkins tomorrow evening but i kinda want to stay home. whats wrong with me? who doesnt like to carve pumpkins??
9) Andrea's cousin video taped Bubby making apple sauce (her special recipe). It was fun and i'm sure we'll treasure that tape one day, but it made me so sad to think she wont always be the one making the apple sauce.

3. Sam- talk science with me! I just got placed for my next internship in a 5th grade class. I have NO experience with big kids like this. HELP! (I only have 1 science lesson to do with them, but I'll take any advice).
4. Berries- I'm so glad you liked the "meat"balls! Now I'm even more excited about making them tomorrow.
5. CTBride- I also need to deal with open enrollment but I don't know what to do b/c I do not like/trust our one and only HR person. There is NO way I could figure it out on my own, though...
6. One class was cancelled today, and the other was a field trip to Science Central (a children's science "museum"). So much fun! I brought peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for a classmates b'day and they were a hit! That always feels good.
7. I woke up late though, and had to skip lunch in order to get the cookies done. Now I'm eating lunch at 4 pm. What time will I have dinner??
8. I'm supposed to be a the landra-mat but I HATE that place. We need a new dryer.
9. I just found out the school system I'll be interning at and student teaching at likes to fire gay teachers for "indirectly coming out to students". The ACLU says they aren't breaking any laws and the union doesn't seem to care. Crap. Please pray for me to become a better liar :-(
10. #9 makes me really worry about getting a job. I REALLY don't want to have to lie everyday. What happens when I'm a "single" lady and pregnant? Is that better? Will I have to tell my students to pretend I'm not pregnant? That we can't talk about it?! Ugh. Sorry for ending on a ranty note!
The Mom's Panel are 10 moms (and a dad or two) that answer questions on Disney's website. People who are planning trips submit their questions and then panel members answer them as volunteers of Disney. Disney flies you to Orlando for a 5 day training in December. Apparantly it is a pretty competitive process - although I had no idea. I got an e-mail about it, submitted my 3 answers while I was on hold at work (gotta love sittting on hold with insurance agencies) and somehow made it to round 2.

2. Therefore, this is only my second post
3. It was so cold in the office today, I had to run to my car and fish out the emergency blanket from the trunk
4. Our puggle really needs a bath.
5. I can't decide if I should start supper now or wait for N (dw) to get off work...I'm not exactly sure when that will be as she's had OT a lot lately
6. I really wish we could find a suitable house for all of us (me, N, 2 cats and the puggle). I don't want to, but it may be time to 'lower the standards'
7. I've been dying to go apple picking, but I think I've waited too late in the season.
8. I'd really like to finish the hat I'm knitting. But I never seem to have time anymore.
9. I really wish the person that sits next to me in my training class would stop bopping me on the shoulder every 5 minutes to ask questions about the material because she was busy e-mailing her mother.

3. I'm playing catch-up from a cold and then travel last week.
4. We didn't look at houses last night because C had a stomach ache.
5. She's feeling better and we're going out tonight at 5pm.
6. The pressure of finding something soon (to move by our closing date) is not fun, but house shopping still is.
7. I can't wait to be in our new place (but we have a lot to do between now and then).
8. School and work are keeping me busy. I wish I could take a break before December.
9. I'm hungry. Maybe I'll have a snack before we go out.
10. That would me I have to wake the cute dog sleeping on my lap.
