My husband's cell phone just died. The screen went white and we can't get it to come back on. It did this yesterday and somehow I got it to work again but it's gone out once more. SO he needs a new phone but doesn't qualify for the new every two just yet (not til July).
He actually needs a blackberry for work so we can send him information easily (or an email capable phone with an email plan). He will be reimbursed for the blackberry plan.
Here are our options.
Option 1: We can buy a blackberry at the Verizon store. I *think* we can get a discount even though it's not up for the new every 2 yet and the phone will cost us around $200. If we can't get a discount it will be around $400.
Option 2: We can add a line to our current plan for $10 and add the blackberry. Then, once July hits, we can get rid of one line. We would be able to get the blackberry at the new user price (around $50, I think).
Option 3: I can try to sweet talk the Verizon person into letting me change the phone and get the new user price (chances are slim unless my friend Jen is working...then I might be able to swing this).
Option 4: Try to find a blackberry on ebay. But then MH is without a phone until it gets here.
Thoughts? I'm leaning towards Option 2.
Re: WWYD?
In order, I would try:
Mostly because adding another line seems like an extra expense to me (because you'd still have to pay for the old line and the new line until July.)
I'd do 3, 4, 1, 2.
But maybe try Craigslist before Ebay b/c you can get it faster.

The extra line would be $10 a month (actually less with our military discount - $8.50? so that would cost us $76 over the next 9 months).
Val: Craigslist in this area doesn't really exist.
I mean, it does exist, but it's not very active.
I wish I had waited for your response! Thanks for the offer. We already got his new phone though (he was desperate - apparently 36 hours without a phone really got to him...ha).
