Question of the Day 10/20

Sticking with the theme of holidays,

What are you Halloween plans for this year?

Re: Question of the Day 10/20

  • My Halloween plans have already started and will continue throughout the month.

    1) Dh and I make October scary movie month. We rent scary movies and cuddle up on the couch and watch them.

    2) Last weekend we went to Scarowinds. It was fun!

    3) We are going to the Gravedigger's Ball in Charlotte this weekend. I am so excited to see the Backstreet Boys LOL...it's so lame. We are supposed to dress up, but the costumes we are ordering won't be in in time, so I'm not sure what we're doing.

    4) The weekend of Halloween, we are invited to a costume party on Friday with some of my work friends. Then Halloween night DH and I are invited to another costume party with a friend of his. As long as he doesn't work we'll be going to both.

    5) We bought tons of candy for trick-or-treaters so we should be home to hand it out.

We love Halloween! I am so excited for all the festivities!! We may try to go to Wompus Woods too if we find time.

  • We got invited to a party on the Friday down in Hilton Head. Sounds like its going to be fun- catered food, a band and DJ all in a 10,000 sq ft house..it'll be nice to see how the other half lives Cool

Still looking for a costume for me and DH. Definitely want to be home on Halloween to pass out candy..its one of my fav parts!

  • I'm running my first half marathon that day in Greenville!  That night we're just going to stay home and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters for the first time in our new house!

  • It's homecoming!  And we have friends staying with us.

So I think that's about it.

  • My hubby and I are doing our "Boo at the Barn" at Scuffletown Dancin' Barn.

I'm not sure what I'm going to dress up as.  I have this black velour gown that I bought for a Deatheater costume 2 years ago.  I'm thinking about doing either a vampire or Sith with it.  I've also considered just donning a hockey jersey and being a hockey player like my husband is doing.

  • I actually got a costume this year-first time in a LONG time, and got one for DH too. We're wearing our costumes to work, doing the "Boovox" thing @ his office and then I'm helping with the trick or treat festivities @ work as well.
We're debating having a halloween party in our neighborhood, but regardless, we'll definitely be around to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters!!

  • It's been awhile since we did the Halloween thing, last year DH and I were in Mexico on our HM so we didn't get to celebrate/ dress up or pass out candy. But.. this year we got invited to a costume party in Mt.P, and picked a fabulous pair for a costume.. to find out the hosting couple was dressing up as that.. so it's back to square 1 on the costume idea...any thoughts? None the less, excited for actual plans of dressing up this year!

  • We are decorating this Saturday.  Here's a picture of our house last year:

This Sunday our church is having Trunk or Treat.  It's a community event where kids can dress up and come trick or treat in a safe environment.  The various community groups set up a booth with some sort of theme that is generally interactive, and then the kids get a treat at each booth.

The Friday before halloween our dog has been invited to a Howl-O-Ween party and she's dressing up as a watch dog.

Is anyone else interested in going to the HowlOWeen party?  It's at Astro Kennels on scuffletown road in simpsonville.  It's free. There will be bobbing for weenies!

We'll be handing out candy bars on Halloween.

  • Nice decorations!!!

We wanted to decorate this year, but it's our 1st Halloween actually owning a house/needing decorations. We figured we'll wait till after Halloween and buy them this year to get them cheap. So next year we'll be doing it =).

I saw their sign last Saturday!  I was wondering what it was.  That sounds so cute.  I just wish I had a dog to take.  I think it would traumatize my cat.
