Need Halloween Drink Suggestions

I need a cool alcholic drink idea for Halloween that I can serve "punch" style from a cauldron, but something that you can have more than one of without getting sick to your stomach.  Ideas?

Re: Need Halloween Drink Suggestions

  • Not really cauldron style, but check out the two most recent pages of the blog by hostess with the mostess:

Another cool idea is to make ice cubes with eyeballs.  I saw it done with radishes but I believe it can be done with lychees and maraschino cherries as well. Let me see if I can find the link.

  • We used to make a witches brew.  There's no recipe, as we just dumped a bunch of stuff in the cauldron.  Vodka or citrus vodka, lemonade, fruit floating in it.  I think we threw in some white grape juice to cut the sour, too.  Plus, if someone spills, it's not red and won't stain your carpet.
  • Hot cider with spiced rum is always good.  I usually just keep it simmering on the stove in a large pot, or in a crockpot.  Then add cinnamon sticks to each mug.
  • Here it is. Check the reader's feedback/comments.

  • I suggested this before previously, but mulled wine is an excellent fall type drink. It's super easy to make also, since you don't need to worry about buying the most expensive wines.

I also just saw an ad from thenest.com that advertised for a Carmel Apple Martini. Sounded good :) I might even use it!

  • If you can somehow make your crock pot look like a cauldron, I always do a hot apple cider

    - Big jug of apple cider from refrigerator aisle in grocery store

    - cinnamon sticks and dash of nutmeg

    - vanilla

    - 2 or 3 cut up thin orange slices

    - Captain Morgan's

    - 1 cup of Tuaca

    - Splash of Cointreau
