Thoughts on a refurbished iPhone?

As someone whose never had an iPhone and only played around with one a few times I have NO CLUE on any of the nitty gritty details. Does anyone on here have any knowledge or own an iPhone that can enlighten me?

What model is this? I wouldn't get anything other than the 3Gs.
I've never had a refrub apple product but I do hear good things about them. I'd check and see what the warranty is like.
