Going to Chicago for our 1st Year Anniversary
Hello ladies!! So we are set made flight reservations and hotel reservations today. We will be staying at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers 11/13-11/17
Has anyone being there? Any recommendations? Must sees?
TIA!
Re: Going to Chicago for our 1st Year Anniversary
You are going to have so much fun.
Take the trolly tour. It is awesome, you will literally see everything & @ Navy Pier take a boat tour. We took the the architecture tour it was great!
We were in chicago for two days last month and had a blast!
i would defintely recommend:
1) taking a stroll (or a segway tour!) from the museum campus, along the lake, and to the parks. It might be pretty cold in November though.. so perhaps the trolley tour would be better!
2) check out millenium park for the bean and the statues
3) navy pier
4) wrigleyvile -they have some nice bars around there
5) we didn't like the Field Museum that much (it's main attraction is Sue the dinosaur). We DID enjoy the Science of Museum and Industry. It was awesome! However, it is an ALL day thing and more expensive. I think it is probably one of the best museums I have ever been to.
6) chicago is famous for it's improv. we really wanted to see Second City improv but it was sold out because we didn't book it with enough time. We saw another one (called Comedy Sports), but it was really good as well.
have fun!!
thank you ladies!!! you ladies rock, I am even more excited now... can't wait!!
Sarah - thank you for the recommendations, for both of my trips. Yes, we went to Myrtle Beach last month... it was very nice... I love Broadway on the Beach. My DH's best friend lives in Georgetown, so we spent a lot of time with them.
Vicky - thank you for the recommendations, will keep them in mind. Vicky your anniversary is right around the corner as well...any plans?
Johanna - that's true forgot that you went not too long ago. Hey what's the plan for your anniversary, its right before mine
Yay you are going to have so much fun!
My friend lives there and he LOVES it. If you need more suggestions, let me know and I'll contact him. He literally lives in the heart of the city.
I really enjoyed the Field Museum actually.. and also enjoyed the Planetarium. I wish we'd had time to go to the Museum of Science and Industry but we only had a day.
If you like Russian food, check out Russian Tea Time, it's a great restaurant!! My cousins who live in the area took us there and it was sooooo good!!!
My Blog: SIREN.ORG!
Karen - I have never had Russian food, but will look into it... something new!
Michi, could you please ask your friend for a nice restaurant recommendation. It's for our anniversary dinner on sunday, 11/15. I got the followign recs from the Chicago board:
Weber Grill, Fulton's On The River, Signature Room on the 95th Floor of the Hancock Building and Spaggia
Jenny - thank you!! I can't wait... OMG your Anniversary is a month away!
