Entertaining Servingware Recs?

Looking to add a few items to my holiday wish list. ?I want to upgrade some of my entertaining servingware. ?For example, I love my Pamper Chef veggie tray that has a section to freeze, so my veggies remain safe to eat throughout the party. ?What are some other items you love? ?Where can I buy them? ?TIA!

Re: Entertaining Servingware Recs?

  • I recommend pewter (Wilton Armetale or off-brand) or silver.  Silver colored pieces work with any occasion - casual or formal.  Armetale's routinely half off at dept stores.  I get my silver used at antique stores for a few dollars a piece.  You can see a portion of what I have in my fall party pics in my bio.
  • I found this brand at Bed, Bath and Beyond that I really like called B. Smith. I really like this line because it is simple, so it can be used with any sort of theme or colors, but it is very modern. Check it out! http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/Search/Search.aspx/b-smith/b-smith/serveware/_/N-1z141esZ1z1409z?&AggBy=0&dim=1&nty=1&order_num=-1&sstr=b.+smith
  • I second the Wilton Armetale.  You can go classic, funky, any season, and they have great prices and pieces.  We have a couple of pieces we leave out year round.

Lennox also has a beautiful line of silver at a decent price.

  • I'm a big fan of white serving pieces.  They go with absolutely everything and can be made casual or formal based on the occasion.  Crate and Barrel always has fun and usable pieces at great prices.  Also, these types, as well as glass, can usually go into the dishwasher, which is a great benefit when you're cleaning up from any type of party. Wink

  • I love anything from Crate and Barrel! www.crateandbarrel.com

  • Another C&B fan here.  Unlike most people - I really don't like the white serving sets.  I know they go with everything I'm just not that into them.

I have all the glass pieces from the Orion collection.  They are nice and sturdy and have more personality than a plain colored dish, imo.  And another reason to love them?  They are rather cheap!

Ditto this.  There's some great stuff from the Cellar Brand at Macy's.

I'll third this.  The Cellar line is just fantastic.  I can't say enough good things about it.  It also works well with the B. Smith and Everyday White lines from BB&B and the whiteware lines from C&B and PB.  Macy's has way more variety in big stores than online (my friend found Cellar appetizer spoons!) and the inventory changes so you can update your collection.  They also have new coordinating pattern pieces every season and they have a line of creamware if you don't like the bright white.  Macy's also has a an off-white line from Martha Stewart which is nice.

I'll also echo the girls who mentioned Armetale and the Lenox metal lines.  If you like the temperature control of your veggie tray, you'll love the Armetale stuff.  You can freeze it or heat it and it will maintain temperature longer than most serveware.  We have some of that and some of the Lenox Spyro and love both.  Wait for sales on these at Macy's--I think they have a One Day Sale coming up soon (flyer came in the mail today) and both lines are 60% off.

HTH!  Let us know what you decide!

  • I bought some nice white serving plates from CHEF's Catalog, and they're very reasonable as well.

  • Fiestaware has a lot of great serving pieces in funky or more muted colors. It is sold at JCP, Kohl's, Macy's, and online direct from the seller.
