I am looking to buy a DSLR camera. I have always had Nikons for my P&S so I am leaning towards staying with a Nikon. Any suggestions? D40? D60? D3000?
Thanks!
Re: DSLR for a Newbie
I have a D40 and am jonesing for a D90.
If I was buying a new camera now and had a budget of 500ish, I'd get the D5000. If I had a budget of 800ish, a D90.
My Blog
i recently got the D40 and it is fantastic. all the others were a little "too much" camera for me, my main thing is general pic taking ofthe kids and friends and stuff. so i really have no use for all the fancy settings. so far i have only used the basic auto focus and i am completely amazed at teh quality of the photos taken.
i was going to get one of the more expensive ones but i was given a lot of great reviews on the D40, even though it is an older model. and it was nice cuz i still had money left over for a nice zoom lens in the future.
and ditto the kenrockwell.com he sold me on it.
